Hip-Hop fans are mourning the sudden passing of legendary Lord Sear, whose real name was Steve Watson. Lord Sear, a man of multi-talents, bid farewell to the world in his 50s. While his fans are mourning his demise, the reason for his death is also being searched for.

To mention, no official cause of Lord Sear's death has been revealed, till now. Sirius XM Shade 45 confirmed Lord Sear's passing, and in a statement, they paid tribute to the legendary radio voice. Sear was not only known for his radio voice, but rather he was a DJ, vocalist, producer and worked with some of the most notable names in Hip-Hop. As his passing left his fans in sorrow, let's have a look at his career and net worth.

Lord Sear's massive net worth revealed

Lord Sear was born in 1971, and his skills, which he showed in college radio underground in the 1990s, took him to the global reach of satellite radio, and he became one of the key figures of the genre. Lord Sear was one of the much-loved voices of the Hip-Hop radio, who was a part of the Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show and a supporter of Eminem’s Shade 45. His passing sparked a sense of grief around. Amid this, his massive net north surfaced. While not officially confirmed, several reports claimed that Sear's net worth was estimated to be USD 2 million at the time of his passing.

A look at Lord Sear's career

Lord Sear first grabbed the attention, being a part of the most influential radio program, The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show on Columbia University’s WKCR, which spanned from 1990 to 1998. His first association with the radio program solidified his future path, and he eventually established himself as one of the key figures of this genre. He first was a DJ for rapper Kurious; however, his passion was unbeatable, and it eventually led him to establish a freestyle-friendly, open-forum environment, which not only made him stand out and grab attention but also gave early exposure to then-newcomers like Jay-Z, Nas, and the Wu-Tang Clan. During that time, he was also serving as a beatboxer, and eventually he became an official co-host.

In 2004, Lord Sear joined Eminem’s Shade 45 channel on SiriusXM, and he had been there till the time he passed away. He also went on a world tour with Eminem. Lord Sear was a lifelong supporter, and in an interview on The Real Hip Hop, Lord Sear talked about his relationship with Eminem.

He shared that back in 1997 or 1998, Eminem's then-manager dropped off his demo to him and Bob of the show, Bobbito, from where he eventually built a relationship with Eminem. Sear added that back then, they didn't know that Eminem would make his career this big. Sear described Eminem as someone down to earth and a cool person. Sear said:

"Through the radio show that I did with Stretch and Bobbito. His manager Paul Rosenberg dropped off music of his demo for me and Bob at Bobbito’s store back in ’97 or ’98. From there I got to get to know him and build a relationship. From there it went on to where I’m at right now. I never knew he was going to be where he’s at. It wasn’t like, “Hey man, I like Em, too.” Em was always a cool person. He’s a down to earth person. A cool cat, he was never fronting."

Lord Sear didn't stop right there and introduced his voice in the gaming world, being the DJ for the radio station Game FM, in 2001’s Grand Theft Auto III. Later, he also appeared as a character in 2008’s Grand Theft Auto IV. Sear also collaborated with Beastie Boys, MF DOOM, Big Pun, The X-Ecutioners, and Statik Selektah, thereby marking his presence in the music industry as well. One of his singles, Alcoholic Vibes, still remains one of the favourites among his fans.
