Aditya Dhar's 'Dhurandhar' has received mixed reviews, but the audience is eagerly waiting for part 2 of the movie, and Ranveer Singh's role will possibly be connected to 'Uri: The Surgical Strike'.
Aditya Dhar's movie, Dhurandhar is roaring at the box office. The movie, reportedly budgeted at Rs. 280 crore, saw a 20 per cent jump at the box office on Saturday. The movie is receiving mixed reviews from the audience and the critics. Amid this, it was also announced that Part 2 will be released in March 2026, and thus, the excitement is high among the audience.
The movie features five actors, including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. There have been talks about the movie being made based on real events, and later Aditya Dhar clarified that although reference had been taken from real events and real personalities, the movie is fictionalised. There had been much talk about Ranveer Singh's role, with people wondering if he played Major Mohit Sharma.
The speculations were so rife that Major Mohit Sharma's family came forward with a legal suit claiming that no permission was taken from them before making the movie. To this, Aditya Dhar clarified that Ranveer didn't play 'Major Mohit Sharma's role. Ranveer Singh plays the role of 'Hamza Ali Mazari' in the movie. Part 2 will possibly unfold his backstory and how, from 'Jaskirat Singh', he became 'Hamza Ali Mazari'.
Now, people have been obsessively finding information about 'Jaskirat Singh'. This led the audience to stumble on a clip from the movie, Uri: The Surgical Strike, wherein 'Flight Lieutenant Seerat Kaur' (Kirti Kulhari) was conversing with 'Vihaan' (Vicky Kaushal), mentioning 'Jaskirat Singh'. In the clip, 'Seerat' revealed that her husband, 'Jaskirat', was in the Punjab regiment and lost his life during the Naushera Sector ambush. So, now the question is whether Dhurandhar is connected to Uri: The Surgical Strike in any way.
'Jaskirat Singh' transformed into 'Hamza,' and he was used in operation Dhurandhar because of his lifestyle imprisonment. On the other hand, people have been wondering if Ranveer Singh's character will die in the second part of Dhurandhar, which is set to be released in March 2026. To mention, it cannot be confirmed whether his character will die or not, but one thing is certain with the post-credit scene that Part two will explore Ranveer's character's backstory, where 'Jaskirat Singh' will be hired by the Chief of IB.

Dhurandhar was dropped in theatres on December 5, 2025, and it has been roaring at the box office, reportedly even beating the big hit, Saiyaara's Day 1 record. The movie featured five famous actors, including Sara Arjun, and since the trailer was dropped, it has been grabbing attention, for better or worse. While the families of the real people whose roles were created in reel-life are raising legal issues, legal threats also occurred, and the movie has shown it all. However, beating all of these, Dhurandhar is showing the 'Wrath of God' at the box office.
