Kunwar Amar's last publicly known girlfriend was Charlie Chauhan. The duo was a much-loved pair who dated for several years and also participated together in the dance reality show Nach Baliye 5. They broke up in October 2015, but their fans were still stuck at the time when they were in love. As Charlie tied the knot with Ramandeep, netizens revisited her past with Kunwar Amar. Amid that, his comment on going through a bad breakup has resurfaced.
Kunwar Amar (real name Kunwar Amarjeet Singh) opened up on his heartbreaking split in an interview with Hauterrfly. Notably, he didn't disclose the name of the long-term ex-girlfriend he was talking about, and it was definitely not Charlie, as the breakup he was referring to took place during the COVID-19 outbreak. The interview took place in 2024, when Amar shared that his ex shattered his heart four years ago (around 2019-20).
As per Kunwar Amar's revelation, it was a pretty serious relationship, and the breakup left him with scars deep enough to make him not want to date for four long years. The dancer, however, didn't shut the doors of his heart and was still open to love. Sharing the reason for staying single for a long time, he mentioned he didn't find his 'that's the one' type of girl yet. In Kunwar Amar's words:
"The thing is, it has been four years since my last breakup, and so my heart broke in such a way that since then I haven't dated. Because I feel until and unless I meet someone who makes me feel 'that's it!' I am waiting for that, to be honest."
Kunwar Amar also opened up about why his ex broke up with him during COVID-19 and why it pained him for years. He revealed that his former partner left him because of financial reasons. According to him, the pandemic halted work in the entertainment industry, and his savings completely dried up, leaving him struggling to even pay basic bills.
As Amar's ex-girlfriend left him in such a tough phase of his life, it left him skeptical of love. He would think multiple times before opening up to anyone to prevent himself from getting hurt the same way he did before. As per him, the split was "too harsh" for him, and since then he realised that he needed to hold back emotionally until he was sure about someone. Talking about his heartbreak, Kunwar Amar stated:
"It wasn't because she left, but the reality was too harsh. I had to accept the truth that nobody would care. You have to keep growing. The acceptance helped me to come out of it. I know my worth now. I cannot allow anybody to come and do the same. I am a giver, if I am in love with a person, I will do everything. Now, for me, it is all about- Is the person worthy enough or would they stay if times go wrong again?"
