The 10th week of Big Brother Season 28 opened back in 1881. To win HOH, houseguests had to collect cactus water with their cowboy hats to fill their horse trough and raise the apple, then run through the gates. Fastest time wins.
Taylor set the early mark at 11:58; Yash beat it by almost 30 seconds at 11:33 and held the lead. Dee wanted to win to keep the Bribe intact and get the satisfaction of nominating Barrett herself. Devens wanted to win to take out his former allies and Melody. Both Icons and Melody kept slipping on the course. Barrett had to sit out as outgoing HOH and felt helpless watching.
Drew, nearly everyone's target and Yash's biggest rival, could not figure out the water pattern and finished well off the pace, settling for thinking he looked cool out there. The win guarantees Yash safety and finally frees him from the BB Bribe after this week, but it still controls him now.
Because he took Dee's 5K bribe earlier, he cannot nominate Dee or Devens. That guarantees both survive the first half of the upcoming double eviction. It also traps his renom plan. If a nominee wins the Pressure Cooker veto or someone else uses it, his only legal replacement is his No.1 ally, Taylor. Yash even considered putting Taylor up from the start so she could fight in veto rather than going up after with no chance.
The nomination is rooted in last week's blindside. When Yash and Taylor kept Dee over Angela, Dee was left emotional and shocked that she survived. She also noticed Barrett hid in the HOH room after she went after him at the veto meeting, which helped her swing the vote.
Barrett felt slapped by newbies he thought were with him. Drew called Barrett's reign one of the worst in history. Melody is angry, feeling she has been a better ally to Barrett and Drew than they have been to her. For The American People is in shambles. Taylor and Yash say they kept the two best Icons to have numbers against the Drew, Barrett, Melody trio. In Taylor's words, the tables have turned. Dee is grateful; Devens is ready to roll with them.
Barrett and Melody now read the HOH as 4 on 2. Yash is thrilled to see Drew unhappy and covered his Icon deal by telling the house he heard Drew was targeting him. Devens and Dee are clear that Drew made a big mistake voting to evict Dee. Dee tells Drew to his face she is not mad, but in the diary room she is raging.
Drew is confused after being their loyal sidekick all game, but Dee and Devens have confirmed they are all in with Yash and Taylor, with no place for Drew. That led to Yash's misdirection tour. He told Melody that Drew has been saying his name to the Icons, pitched that he wants Drew out this week and will go back after the Icons once the Bribe is gone, and Melody, while worried Yash is lying about the extent of the Bribe, which he is, cannot be antagonistic while he is in power. He told Barrett his vote to save Dee was because of Drew, and Barrett bought it.
When Barrett asked about nominating Devens, Yash lied about a handshake deal not to nominate him. Barrett bought that too, even while saying Yash could break it. It is surprising how quickly two people aligned with Drew all game have turned on him from a little misinformation, though Drew set himself up with his earlier moves. Yash has been a phenomenal liar here.
In the end, Yash chose Drew, Melody, and Barrett. He framed it as payback for Drew trying to get him out, and said in the diary room that Drew is the target, the other two are collateral, and after this week, everyone is fair game. Drew says no one will save him but himself; Melody says she is not comfortable sitting next to anyone; Barrett knows he is the backup if Drew comes off. If they want off, they will have to survive Pressure Cooker.
