Though Ammy Virk’s professional life has always been in the limelight, people hardly know anything about his personal life. For a long time, fans thought the singer was single, but he once revealed that he is married and has a daughter. However, he keeps his family life strictly private to protect them from the public spotlight.
Back in 2019, several reports claimed that singer-actor Ammy Virk and actor Himanshi Khurana were engaged. The singer once revealed that some ‘miscommunication’ led to rumours of his marriage to Himanshi. When Himanshi participated in Bigg Boss 13, he and his brother got calls, but he spoke to her, and they decided to ignore the rumours.
Ammy Virk worked with Himanshi Khurana in the popular music video Yaarien. When she went on to participate in Bigg Boss, her name was linked with Asim Riaz, but the actress stated that she was engaged to someone else. Soon, rumours spread that she was married to Ammy. However, Ammy's elder brother, Bhagwanth, cleared the air in an interview and shared that there was no truth to the rumours.
When Ammy Virk sat down for an interview with Siddharth Kannan, he spoke about his linkup rumours with Himanshi Khurana and revealed how the whole speculation began. Speaking about the same, he said:
“Mera kuch tha hi nahi aisa. Ek photo viral hui thi aur Punjab mein miscommunication hui thi, kuch log the jinhone bana di thi, logon ko lagta tha ki meri aur Himanshi ki shaadi hui hai. Uske baad Bigg Boss mein chal raha tha kuch masla, kaafi phone-vone aate the, mere bhai ko bhi aaye hai.”
Ammy Virk spoke about his family for the first time during the war in the UAE. Ammy Virk revealed that his wife and six-year-old daughter had been stranded in the UAE. While the popular singer lives in Punjab with his family, his wife and daughter stay in the UAE, away from the media glare. During the conflict between the UAE and Iran, Ammy took to his Instagram and shared how the situation has left him emotional and worried for the safety of his family.
He said his daughter reassured him that if something happened, she would hide under the bed and that she was a strong girl. His note could be read as:
“The situation in the UAE has been weighing heavily on my heart. My wife and my 6-year-old daughter are there, and as a husband and father, it's impossible not to feel emotional and tense during times like this. 'Papa, I will hide under my bed if something happens. I'm a strong girl, Papa; don't worry' is not what a father wants to hear. Every news update feels personal. No matter how strong we try to be in public life, at the end of the day we are family people."
Ammy Virk is in the headlines currently because of a shooting incident. As per the reports, the popular singer had a narrow escape in Canada after a vehicle in his concert convoy was targeted and fired upon in Abbotsford, British Columbia, shortly after he performed at the Rogers Forum. It is alleged that the singer and the concert promoter were inside. There were seven gunshots at the vehicle. The Abbotsford Police Department confirmed the shooting and said no one was injured.
