21 Savage is going through the pain of losing his 14-year-old nephew who died by suicide after accidentally shooting his 12-year-old sister.

Last week, the family got hit by the biggest blow after the rapper's 14-year-old nephew accidentally shot his 12-year-old sister. While she was rushed to the hospital, out of guilt and fear of being arrested, the young boy committed suicide.
21 Savage, who keeps his personal life private, made sure to remember the most important member of his family. He shared a sweet photo with him on his Instagram stories. In the snap, the little one looked cute in a white-hued T-shirt with a pink jacket atop it. And 21 Savage held him in his arms while the little boy made a sign using his fingers.
Earlier, 21 Savage had taken to his Instagram stories and shared another photo of his nephew where he was wearing a 21's chain, with the caption "Remember when you was a baby", followed by a series of heart emojis.
For the unversed, Seven accidentally shot his 12-year-old sister, Lyric, in the neck on July 22, 2026. It was an accident, as per the news station 11Alive, but it left a deep impact on his mind, and it seems like he got so scared that he decided to end his life. While the family was busy giving the necessary care to the 12-year-old, Seven made the young boy died by suicide.
His grandmother, Sharon Smith, talked about the pain and shared that he probably thought that people would ridicule him and he might go to jail, and since he couldn't take it all, he decided to end his life. Through tears, Seven's grandmother said:
"Just that fast that boy had made the decision to kill himself. He probably sat up there and thought, 'I'm finna go to jail, they’re going to ridicule me, everybody is going to be doing this and that and this … and he couldn’t take it.'"
Talking about the shooting incident, the family has no idea how he got the gun. She added that something needs to be done about the person who sold the gun, as if he wouldn't have bought it, the mishap wouldn't have happened. He said:
"We don’t know. We don’t know. Something needs to be done about that person who sold that gun because if he had never bought that gun, this would have never happened."
As soon as the news surfaced, people who had known the child shared their disbelief. One of his elementary school teachers wrote, "I am saddened to learn of this. Seven was a former student during his elementary school years at Panola Way Elementary. Keeping his family in my prayers during this incredibly difficult time, and praying for God’s healing hand, strength, and comfort to be with his sister Lyric as she recovers."
A second user wrote, "So sad. I remember a story like this years ago where the kids were in the bathroom on live, and she accidentally shot her brother, so she shot herself almost instantly too… praying for everyone involved." A third user penned, "I am so sad! This was one of my former students. I am praying for his family. Just heartbreaking."
