The shocking incident got the internet curious about his motive behind the atrocity. Recently, the bereaved parents broke their silence on the horrific incident, sharing their devastation.
No words can describe the grief that Karoline Heintz's parents are going through since losing their teen daughter. Hours after the police discovered Karoline's lifeless body, her parents opened up about the tragic incident. In a statement shared with the Pennsylvania State Police and reported by WTAE, the bereaved family members expressed that they were living a "parent's worst nightmare."
Recalling the dreadful incident, Karoline's parents mentioned it's been "devastating" for them to deal with. They also shared that she was an amazing daughter, who was not only beautiful but also kind and smart. The grieving parents of the Pennsylvania University soccer star further stated that Karoline Heintz had many well-wishers and was loved by many people. Her emotional mom and dad also demanded justice for their deceased child. Their exact words were:
"It has been devastating for family, friends, and the whole community. Karoline was loved by all. She was a kind, smart, beautiful girl. We want justice for our 'sweet' Karoline."
Karoline Heintz was an 18-year-old incoming freshman at PennWest California University. She was a rising soccer star of the institution with a bright future ahead, but her life was cut short after her boyfriend, Royce Mosher, stabbed her to death. Royce gave a bizarre explanation for committing the atrocity. He claimed that "demons" told him to harm his girlfriend. The tragedy took place on August 20, 2026, when the couple met up after she had attended a family party that evening.
Pennsylvania State Trooper Rocco Gagliardi said the couple met at Royce's father's home in North Strabane Township, where they talked about their relationship in her Jeep. According to Rocco, Karoline and Royce's conversation mostly focused on how they could continue seeing each other while both were busy with their University studies. However, soon the discussion went a "little bit south", following which Royce allegedly went inside the house, grabbed a knife, went back to the car and then stabbed her in the chest.
After killing Karoline, Royce Mosher allegedly tried to destroy all evidence of his crime. He reportedly stuffed her in the back hatch of the car and drove from his father's house (i.e., the site of the crime) to his mother, Rachel Mosher's home in Beallsville, Pennsylvania. He sought help from his mom, and she tried to remove blood stains from his clothes and Karoline's car to cover up her son's crime. By that time, Karoline was supposed to have returned to her dorm room.
When Karoline Heintz's family was informed that the 18-year-old had not returned yet, they tried to contact her. After failing to connect with the soccer star, they called the police for a wellness check. The officers tracked her location, which was pinned outside the California Borough Library, and there they found her bloodied body in her Jeep. The police connected the dots and identified Royce Mosher as a suspect. Royce is currently in police custody alongwith his mother.
