Joint Managing Director and Creative Director of Balaji Telefilms, Ekta Kapoor is 43 and single. She is a powerhouse of talent, and has numerous TV shows and hit Bollywood films in her basket. She comes from a family of film people, having been born to yesteryear popular actor Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor, and is the sister to the actor, Tusshar Kapoor. Clearly, her remarkable professional journey has been a cakewalk for her. But one department, in which she hasn’t had a favourable luck is love or marriage. Choice or chance?
Ekta is 42 already and with her stunning aura and personality, anyone would expect her to get married now or at least find love in her life. Well, guess what! It seems that there is something going on in Ekta’s life. Her latest Instagram post suggests a lot. Perhaps, her post also answers the question, "Why is Ekta Kapoor unmarried?" She has shared a beautiful picture of a couple (maybe Ekta and her beau?), and captioned it, “Some things come late, but some things are worth the wait.” And in fact, the picture that she has shared contains quite a wisdom on love. Can it be deciphered that Ekta Kapoor is in love? Or she has found love? Well, sooner or later we’ll come to know the truth. Speaking of Ekta’s love and marriage, recently in a candid interview, she opened up about having a child but not being a mother. She shared, “My parents want me to but I don’t know if I am ready. I am too busy. So, I have huge respect for women who manage both the home and their work. It’s superb multitasking, kudos to them. At this present moment, I have to take out time for a work-out. At 1’o clock, I am going for a walk. She further added, “All my friends, who were married are now unmarried. With the number of divorces I have seen recently, I think I am the more patient one. At least, I waited for it. I definitely know one thing, that I want a child but marriage, I don’t know. I don’t have time for myself, if I get a couple of hours, I would like to go to a spa. I look forward to a one-day vacation with friends. I love my work, so I don’t crib. People tell me to give it up if you have such a problem with it. I won’t, I would get so bored. I’d rather be busy than bored.”
In an interview to the Hindustan Times, which Ekta gave in 2014, she revealed that impatience is the reason for her not marrying. She revealed, “The biggest side effect is that it makes people highly impatient. And I think it is due to my lack of patience that I’m not married. You have to work on patience and pretence if you want a happy marriage. They become your biggest virtues.”
When asked if it irritates her to constantly answer the questions of her marriage, she retorted, “Yes, it is. I want to ask these people, ‘Are you my mother or father to ask me that?’ Our country is obsessed with marriage. Ekta’s doting dad, Jeetendra, once revealed to the Times of India, that he really wants Ekta to get married and that he has even prayed for it. He was quoted as saying, “But at the same time, as a father, I want her to take it easy now and get married. I don't know why she is not thinking about marriage. Perhaps she is reluctant to take the plunge because of so many unhappy marriages around, but I really wish that Ekta gets married soon. In fact, I have even prayed for her at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and if my wish comes true, I will come here again with the entire family.”
