Yes, you read it right, we are indeed talking about atta. Various studies have found that wheat has many vitamins and nutrients in abundance. When one applies it topically on the face, blended with other natural ingredients, wheat flour guards the skin, as well as helps in the regeneration of skin cells. It works wonders when it comes to skin whitening and lightening dark spots. Here is a list of a few wheat flour-based face packs that will give you glowing skin naturally.

#1. Face pack for oily skin

Wheat flour has many benefits, and one of its major plus points is that it absorbs excess oil from the skin. Here is an easy atta-based remedy for oily skin types.


  • 4 tbsp. whole-wheat flour (atta)
  • 3 tbsp. milk
  • 2 tbsp. rose water
  • 2 tbsp. raw honey


In a pan, pour the milk and bring it to boil. Now add rose water and honey. Switch off the stove and remove the pan. Now slowly blend in the wheat flour. Keep stirring it and make a thick paste. Let it cool down. Now you can start applying it evenly on the face and neck. Allow it to dry naturally and wash it off with water.

#2. Pack for skin whitening

The skin tone is largely dependent on a pigment known as melanin. Due to a few internal as well as external reasons, at times there is an over production of melanin, as a result of which your skin gets dark spots. Here is a simple remedy to fade those brown spots and make your skin glow.


  • 2-3 tbsp. milk cream (malai)
  • 1-2 tbsp. wheat flour


In a bowl, take the required amount of milk cream and wheat flour and mix them together thoroughly. Give your face a thorough wash and pat it dry. Now apply this pack evenly. Let it dry and rinse it off. Regular use of this would help in fading the dark spots as well as aid in skin whitening.

#3. Pack that helps in soothing the skin

Wheat flour when added with the right ingredients, can help in soothing the skin to a huge extent. Here is what you need to do.


  • 1 cup of water
  • 4 tsp. dried or 8 tsp. fresh rose petals
  • Peels from 1 organic orange
  • 2-3 tbsp. milk
  • 2 tbsp. rose water
  • 2 tsp. honey
  • 4 tbsp. whole wheat flour


Boil the water and remove it from the heat. Now, pour the rose petals and orange peels, cover the pan with lid and let it sit, until it reaches lukewarm or cool temperature. Take another pan and pour milk in it. Heat it up and add the water you kept aside, and honey. Keep a little water aside for use later. Now remove it from the heat. Slowly blend in the flour and whisk into a thick paste. Apply it evenly on face and neck, when it is still warm. Let it settle for 15-20 minutes. Once it is dried up completely, rinse it off with the aromatic rose-orange water. Pat it dry and apply moisturiser.

#4. Skin whitening and tan-removal mask

Wheat flour works wonder to enhance skin fairness. Wheat flour also helps a great deal in skin exfoliation and the removal of dead skin cells. To get the best result, prepare the mask below.


  • 4 tbsp. wheat flour
  • 1 cup water


In a bowl, mix wheat flour with water and prepare a thin paste. Apply it evenly on the face, slowly rubbing it in circular motion. Leave it to dry for around 20 minutes. Now to wash it off, start massaging slowly as you use a scrub. But, don’t overdo the scrubbing and ensure the pressure is gentle. Wash it thoroughly and pat the face dry. Try this, once a week and witness your skin turn supple and fair. This also helps in removing tan.
