While everyone is still not out of the demonetisation that happened in India, a billionaire from Karnataka has apparently outlaid a big sum of Rs. 100 crore for his daughter’s wedding. It’s just a few days back, the invitation card and other major things were hitting headlines about this ‘Big Fat Wedding’. Now that the wedding is over, there is more information on the total cost of the wedding are out.

And trust us, the figures that the reports claim are heart-wrenching (concerning specifically the present scenario of money crunch).
There is no denying that the total budget of this lavish wedding is something like a mystery. While there are some reports that claim the total bill of this wedding was about Rs. 550 crore, there are some reports that have estimated it to be somewhere in between Rs. 100-200 crore. Though, the Reddy family has claimed the wedding cost was about Rs. 30 crore only.
The reason why this wedding is bagging so much of hula hoop for spending a big amount is because it took place at the time when the Indian government has already initiated a scheme to flush black money out. When asked the former minister Suresh Kumar, he was quoted saying:
“It is a private function and there is no official directive on it.’’
According to the conservative estimate of CBI, Reddy has made Rs. 5,000 crore through an iron mining factory in Bellary. What further is raising everyone’s eyebrows is the fact that despite being in the jail for 40 months (for illegal mining and other reasons) and forfeiting major portion of his property, how he can still outlay this much of money on his daughter Brahmani’s wedding.
Talking about who all graced this extravagant marriage, there were many public figures from political world and film fraternity. Former BJP ministers namely, Laxman Savadi and Murugesh Nirani attended the reception on November 15, 2016 along with politician B.S. Yeddyurappa.

Besides this, a number of ministers in the Congress government as well as the Governor of Karnataka, Vajubhai Vala were present at the wedding on November 16, 2016.
Film stars like Punith Raj Kumar, Ravichandran, Vishal Krishna, Suman, Sharath Babu, etc. were also there in the guest list. Moreover, Telugu stars like Rakul Preet, comedian Brahmanand and Kannada star Yash performed at the event.
Coming to the wedding venue, it was designed by a famous film art director in a way that it replicated the Vijayanagar empire. The entire venue was built on 35 acres of land at the Bangalore Palace grounds. On top of that, all the guests were taken to the main venue in beautifully decorated bullock carts.
Talking about the bride, it is apparently reported that the saree that she wore itself costed Rs. 17 crore. Not just that, when ti comes to jewellery, it was all about diamonds and no gold at all. The total cost of the diamond jewellery is over 98 crore is reports are to be believed.
