Since the age of six till the age of twenty-six, we all have dreamt of being a bride. We have grown up playing with our mommies' red dupatta and draping it on our head as a bridal veil. We all have at least one childhood picture, wherein our 'dearest mums' have made us dress up as a little bride in a red lehenga with her prettiest jewellery pieces and makeup. However, when we become a bride all our emotions are at its peak. We want every teeny-tiny detail to be perfect and our wedding dress holds the top priority. Every year, bridal trends change but brides-to-be's love for the designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee's collection never fades away. His designs are an epitome of age-old traditions carefully wrapped in his intricate embroideries. Remember his gorgeous jaal embroidered lehenga that became a rage and every local shop of Chandni Chowk produced a million copies of it. We spotted a Punjabi bride, who donned the signature lehenga with an ace.
Meet the bride, Simi Kaur, who married the man of her dreams, Udit in an Anand Karaj ceremony in Sydney, Australia. Their love story has a perfect filmy tadka. Back in the year 2012 when Simi was completing her high school, she stumbled upon Udit's (at that time he was in the second year of his medical school) social media, that's when she reached out to him through a mutual friend. In an interaction with The Crimson Bride, Simi had shared, "A few weeks later, Udit picked me up from my family home and took me out for dinner. It sounds surreal but the moment I saw him, I knew he was someone special."
Before we jump to the bride's main function, let us take a look at her pre-wedding festivities. For her engagement ceremony, Simi donned a pretty pink lehenga from the designer, Anita Dongre's collection. Her look radiated bridal glow and we love how she kept it simple with kundan jewellery.
For her sangeet ceremony, Simi opted for a green sharara from Frontier Raas. Her outfit featured a green-hued kurta with golden boti print and a matching net dupatta. She kept her look subtle for the intimate ceremony and paired her ensemble with statement chandbalis and a maang teeka. She completed her look with hair tied in a half-crown braid.
For her mehendi night, Simi donned a fusion ensemble from her favourite designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. It consists of a strappy purple-hued short kurti with floral hand-embroidered palazzo and pink leheriya dupatta, making it a perfect pick for her mehendi.
Simi's haldi had a beautiful homely vibe to it with marigold flower backdrop. For the ceremony, she wore a cream raw silk suit with golden embroidery on the neck and the hem of her trousers. She teamed her outfit with a yellow banarasi dupatta.
For the wedding, the bride opted for Sabyasachi's red lehenga that featured a botanical embroidered jaal all over the lehenga skirt and choli. She kept her look minimal to let her dress speak for itself, and indeed, it did!
Simi accentuated her look with a choker neckpiece, matching chandbaalis and a minimal maang teeka. For her day wedding, she kept her makeup dewy and subtle. (Don't Miss: This Bride Wore The Same Sabyasachi Lehenga As Worn By Deepika Padukone For Her Traditional Wedding)
On the other hand, the groom donned a cream bandhgala sherwani from designer, Anita Dongre's collection. He accessorised his look with a red stole and a matching turban.
For her wedding reception, Simi switched to a gorgeous navy blue lehenga from Sabyasachi Mukherjee. It featured champagne hand-cut metal sequins embroidery all over the blouse. She paired her outfit with diamond earrings and a tasselled clutch. Her look was completed with maroon lips and light smokey eyes.
Well, Simi is definitely one of the prettiest Sabyasachi brides! What do you think?
