Ever since his birth in December 2016, possibly everybody else in the country has been obsessed with Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s little munchkin, Taimur Ali Khan. With everything and anything he does, even if it is just looking at the paparazzi or simply enjoying his walk with parents, it breaks the internet, like how! Do you remember, when Taimur’s first solo photo donned in a white kurta spread like wildfire on the internet, the Kapoor-Khan fans couldn’t stop talking about his Nawab-like style? Despite the ever-rising culture of paparazzi, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan ensure that their two-year-old continues his day-to-day activities, whether it is playing badminton/football, his horse-riding sessions or his playschool. And in the same regards, February 26, 2019, was no different! Taimur Ali Khan was snapped by the shutterbugs twinning with his mother, Kareena Kapoor Khan, holding a racket and shuttlecock in his hand.
In the video that went viral post this, Taimur Ali Khan can be seen trying his hands-on badminton 'skills' and uncle Kunal Kemmu supervising the little one during his attempts. But soon, Kunal had to leave and before going, he gave Taimur a tight hug and it made us all want to hug the little one too! Here’s the video of the same:
Thanks to the constant media scrutiny and umpteen fans pages, Taimur Ali Khan is already a household name. But what does Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan feel about it? Speaking about the same, Bebo shared with PTI, “We view it as something socially irresponsible because we have been such good parents, we haven’t shied away, we never hid Taimur’s face. In Hollywood, they don’t allow children’s faces to come (publish). But because Saif and I took the modern approach, we can’t do that.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan added, “He would think ‘what is happening?’ I don’t want him to grow up in that fear. I want him to grow up and fly, that’s what parents want their children to do. I can’t keep him away.” Requesting media, she further went on to say, “That would be nice from the media. I have never stopped them. But the constant attention, scrutiny (isn’t good). Hopefully he’s going to be a cool kid like his parents, be more interested in music and sports. That’s what we want.”
Who isn't aware of the Taimur Ali Khan inspired dolls? Imagine how crazy this two-year-old kid’s stardom is as something like this has never happened to a star kid before. Unapologetically, everyone is obsessed with Taimur. On Koffee With Karan 6, Karan Johar asked Kareena to comment on the Taimur’s lookalike dolls and the super-annoyed Bebo replied, “I am sorry to say that (Taimur doll) looks like Chucky The Doll and that doesn’t look like Taimur Ali Khan at all. (The doll) has strange blue eyes, some scruffy hair and the blue collar does not make him my son.”
Speaking of the fear she and Saif have for the constant media attention Taimur is getting, Kareena added, “If his photograph is not taken, he might decide to like slap me or the paps and say, ‘where is my picture?’ That is the fear we have. We are just going to do our best, that’s all I can say. I can’t stop him from going out or going to the playschool but I can request the paps to not take his pictures and yeah, that’s about it." Even Saif Ali Khan talked about his son, Taimur Ali Khan’s friendship with the paparazzi, on Koffee With Karan 6, and had said, "He says hello and hey. Taimur loves them and he is innocent. People said to me that it’s dangerous but paparazzi in India has been respectful. There’s a distance, they take a few pictures."
To which, Karan Johar added, "I would want Roohi and Yash to take paparazzi lessons from Taimur." Reminiscing an incident when the three of them were walking out of Soha Ali Khan’s residence, where he had a photograph with the expression, “Oh, no. The paps!” and Kareena was like, “Okay, you know, hope I’m looking…”, Saif revealed their little one’s reaction to the paparazzi.
Saif stated, “And then you go down to this guy. He’s like, “Hey, friends!” Beaming away, He loves them.” Saif went on to reveal how much a single photograph of Taimur cost. Saif added, “Apparently, they get 1500 bucks a photograph for this guy.” Leaving Sara and Karan shocked! Karan reacted, “Oh, really? I thought it was more. I thought Taimur’s rate was higher.” To which, Sara responded, ““Taimur’s rate was higher” sounds wrong!”
Saif replied, “I heard it’s 1500 bucks. This is what my father-in-law informed me.” Karan shared, “More than any superstar, I think Taimur’s rate is higher than everybody.” Further explaining the concept to Sara, Karan elaborated, “There’s a rate, Sara. We all come with a price. And I’m sure, I’m at the lower end of the stuff. But I’m like, Taimur is number 1 in the rate card.
