Famous Bollywood diva, Parineeti Chopra and handsome hunk, Sidharth Malhotra together make an adorable and loving on-screen jodi. The dashing duo made their fans fall in love with them with their much-applauded chemistry in the film, Hasee To Phasee. Cut to today, Sidharth Malhotra is happily married to his wife, Kiara Advani, while Parineeti Chopra is all set to tie the knot with AAP leader, Raghav Chadha.
Recently, a Reddit user shared a throwback video of Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra from one of the promotional events of their then-upcoming film, Hasee To Phasee. In the video, the duo can be seen sitting on the stage and interacting with the media present at the event. During the interaction, a journalist asked Sidharth about the reports of him gaining weight for his film, Ek Villain, and enquired how he was planning to achieve it. And Parineeti looked excited to know about her co-star's strategy to manage the requirements of his role in the film.

Responding to the question, Sidharth shared that Parineeti was struggling to lose weight and he wanted to lose weight. So, he would ask her how to gain some extra pounds, and thus, they both would help each other. However, Parineeti looked quite uncomfortable with Sidharth's remarks and her expression changed instantly. She was also seen adjusting her clothes as she became conscious about her body.
However, Sidharth Malhotra's comment on Parineeti Chopra's weight didn't go well with the netizens. They flooded the post's comment section and started slamming the actor for fat-shaming Parineeti. Reacting to the video, one user penned, "Her whole facial expression and body language changed as soon as he said it. What a thing to say, and that too in a public forum." Meanwhile, another netizen commented, "It clearly effected her. She took 2 years off to lose weight when she was thriving and her career after that just went downhill."

Parineeti Chopra is one of the few actresses who openly accepted being overweight in multiple media interviews. The bubbly actress once talked about her weight issues in a media interaction and shared that losing weight was not an easy task for her. Talking about her love for food, Parineeti revealed that she managed to shed those extra pounds with a rigorous workout regime and a strict diet plan. She was quoted as saying:
"I am a 25 year-old and there is no reason for me to look fat. I want to look great. I am taking care of myself and I am losing even more weight because I want to look better."
In the same interview, Parineeti also confessed that one of the biggest problems she faced when she was overweight was dressing up. She was sick and tired of ill-fitted clothes as she had limited options. However, the actress also mentioned that initially, she paid less attention to her weight, thinking she could get away with her acting skills alone. But, soon she realised that being a part of Bollywood requires good looks, a toned figure and brilliant acting skills, and she started her weight loss journey in order to look good on screen.
