The actor had many 'so-called' relationships with the leading ladies of the industry, but nothing worked out in his favour because his one true love was sitting in Delhi and enjoying her life. In a world that believes in the concept of 'no strings attached', Shahid showed them the power of commitment without knowing what the future has in store, for them. He made headlines when he took the plunge with his ladylove, Mira, and redefined love for the entire generation that is busy swiping left and right to find their epic love. Over the years, Mira proved that she is no less than her superstar husband, and her fashion sense has been serving perfect pick for the millennials.
Recently, Mira shared a gorgeous picture on her Instagram handle, wherein, we can see the star-wife donning a black Shantanu and Nikhil ensemble. The outfit is a perfect pick for a cocktail night and we loved how Mira styled with a choker neckpiece. Even Shahid couldn't resist himself and commented on her picture with a 'heart' emoji. Coming back to their love story, in an interview with The Times of India, Shahid had split the beans on it. He had shared, "I remember I went to her house for the first time and I was in the Tommy zone. So, I had a ponytail, drop-crotch track pants and weird shoes on. I recall getting out of the car in this avatar at Mira's farmhouse in Delhi. Her dad came out to welcome his son-in-law to be. He saw how I was dressed and he surely thought - 'God what is my daughter getting married to.' He barely looked at me, then whispered 'Come inside' and went away." He had further shared, "She is this 20-something girl coming out of LSR College and she was like 'What?' And when I told her I am playing a character called Tommy, she said, 'That is not the name of a guy, it is the name of a dog."
In another interview, Mira had talked about the concept of arranged marriage, and had stated, "Why not (go for an arranged marriage)? You have to meet someone in some way! It worked for us so beautifully because both of us laid our cards in the open in the beginning. We were ourselves. There was a different kind of discovery after marriage but there was no negative surprise. I understood the role I had to take and he (Shahid) understood that he had to become a part of my life. Both of us have given and taken a lot of each other and we have become more wholesome. It’s two halves that make a whole."
She had further shared how they are as a couple, "At home, it’s just like any other marriage. We have fights, we get along well, we laugh a lot, we raise our child together, we are best of friends. When we step out, we are two people together taking on the world."
Mira had also talked about being a homemaker, and had said, "I am a homemaker and I am proud of the label. I love being at home. I had a difficult pregnancy and now I want to spend every moment I can with my daughter. I have a set of responsibilities on my plate and my future is ahead of me. I can finish all my responsibilities and then I will have nothing in my way. I can raise my daughter, be a good wife, and set up my home the way I like. I wouldn’t have it any other way."
