The superstar of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is recently named the Indian of the Year 2023. The handsome actor expressed his gratitude for winning the award during his speech and also addressed the struggles he and his family faced in the past few years.
As the actor walked to the stage, he talked about how the challenging years in the last four to five years. Revealing his films getting flopped and analysts writing down his career, SRK said:
“The last four, five years have been a bit of a ride for me and my family. I am sure some of you also because of Covid and stuff. Most of my films flopped, a lot of specialists and analysts started writing my death-knell, some idiots did the same, which actually is the same thing, analysts and idiots. Not something that I really bother about.”

In the same speech, Shah Rukh also gave a hint about his son, Aryan Khan’s arrest while putting light on his personal struggle. Calling it bothersome and unpleasant, the handsome actor stated:
“And then, at a personal level, a little bit of bothersome and unpleasant things also happened to say the least which made me learn a lesson that be quiet, be very quiet and work hard with dignity. When you think everything is good, and still know it in your heart when everything is good, suddenly out of nowhere, whoom, life may come and hit you.”
After receiving the award, Shah Rukh, in his emotional speech, stated that the award belongs to his wife and children as they have seen the worst phase in the last few years. In his words, he stated:
“Some years back, when I used to get awards, I decided that every award I get, I take it as a gift for one of my kids. It will bring cheer to their lives. I truly believe in the last four-five years that my family has seen, my children have seen, my wife has seen, I think nobody deserves a bigger cheer right now than them. So I am taking this award back home for them.”

For the unversed, in 2021, Shah Rukh Khan’s son was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau after carrying out a raid on a Goa-bound cruise ship. It was alleged that Aryan was booked for the consumption of drugs. After 26 days and multiple bail rejections, Aryan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court due to lack of evidence, and the celeb kid walked out of the Arthur Road jail.
Aryan Khan was given a clean chit in 2022 due to a lack of substantial evidence.
