The quintessential power couple of the glamour world, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan had made us believe in love marriage. They too had a fairytale love story just like any romantic Bollywood movie. He was the pathaani Muslim guy, who had fallen head-over-heels in love with a Hindu Brahmin.

And like every other love story, Shah Rukh and Gauri too faced a lot of hurdles. Winning over Gauri’s family, the handsome actor got married to her in 1991. The duo is proud parents to three adorable kids, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam.

Shah Rukh Khan recently attended the Sharjah International Book Fair and was honoured with the Global Icon and Cultural Narrative award at the event in Sharjah. When the interviewer asked the actor what according to him his late parents would have thought about his achievements and immense fandom. Giving a witty reply, Shah Rukh stated:

“I think my mother would say first, ‘Tum bahut patle hogae ho, thoda sa weight put on karlo. Kaisa tumhara mooh hogaya hai andar-andar, tumhara kalle andar chale gae hain so eat a little more.”

Adding that before anything else, they would have been proud of the way he raised his three children, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam, Shah Rukh said:

“But I think my father and my mother both would be very proud of I think my one achievement… if I can call it an achievement, I think it is something we have to do and something we live by… I think they will be proud of the way we have been able to bring up my three children. I think they will be very happy.”

Once for the promotions of Hichki, Rani Mukerji had asked celebrities to share the hiccups they had faced in life, and Shah Rukh Khan, who is a close friend was among the first few to talk about the same. Talking about the same, he had remarked:

“My greatest ‘Hichki moment’ is the death of my parents. I was 15 when my father passed away and 26 when my mother passed away. It was very sad for us. The empty house without my parents used to come to bite us (my sister and me). The loneliness, pain and sadness of the loss of both my parents, could have been overwhelming enough to take over my life wholly. I decided to overcome this Hichki moment by letting acting fill up my entire life.”

On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in the film, Pathan.
