Veteran actress, Shabana Azmi has been riding high in her career, ever since she returned to the silver screens with her acting stint in the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Apart from her flawless acting, Shabana's lip-locking scene with Bollywood's handsome hunk, Dharmendra in the film became one of the most talked-about topics recently. Amid all this, the legendary actress revealed how there are 'phishing' attempts under her name, and she has filed a police complaint for the same.
On August 22, 2023, Shabana Azmi took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) handle and penned a note to share that someone tried to impersonate her via messages. She informed her fans and followers by penning a long note, and warned those who are phishing attempts under her name. The veteran actress wrote:
"NOTICE... It has come to our notice that some of our colleagues and associates, have received messages purported to be from Ms Shabana Azmi. These are clearly “phishing” attempts asking responders to make purchases on App Store for the messenger. Please do not reply or pick any calls/messages that appear to be coming to you from Shabanaji. This is a cybercrime of impersonation, and we are making a police complaint. As of now the two numbers from which these messages have been reported are +66987577041 and +998917811675. Thank you."

A while back, in one of her interviews with Zoom, Shabana Azmi opened up about the buzz regarding her kissing scene with Dharmendra in the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. She mentioned how it was never in her thoughts that such a small scene could create so much fuss in the media. Moreover, she shared that shooting the scene was not much of an issue, and that she enjoyed doing such a scene with someone as handsome as Dharmendra. In addition, Speaking about the kiss scene in RARKPK with PTI, Shabana shared:
"I think the maximum comments that I'm getting are like, 'Oh wow, we would have never imagined you in this kind of role and you carry it out with such grace'. Grace is the word that comes up often. You're not prepared for it in any way at all... But I am like 'why is this so surprising'... An actor who has a strong woman image, why is it not possible that she can also be a romantic person?"

In another interview, Shabana was also asked to share the reaction of her husband, Javed Akhtar seeing her on-screen kiss. To this, she mentioned that the latter had no problems with it, and hilariously added how he, on the contrary, disliked how she showed her over-excitement while attending the film's premiere.
On the work front, Shabana will be seen in Netflix India’s TV series, Dabba Cartel. Moreover, she has a thrilling women-led crime drama along with actress Shalini Pandey in her pipeline.
