When Savitri Jindal's husband, Om Prakash Jindal died in a tragic helicopter crash

Many industry experts also remember Om Prakash Jindal as India's original steel tycoon. The businessman was born on August 7, 1930, in Hissar and founded OP Jindal Group back in 1952. Apart from playing a significant role in India's steel industry, OP Jindal also served as the Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana back in 2005. However, unfortunately, on March 31, 2005, he died in a helicopter crash.

As per multiple reports, the steel tycoon was travelling with three others in a King Cobra helicopter when the tragedy happened. The helicopter reportedly crashed near Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur area. The entrepreneur-cum-politician, Om Prakash Jindal was on his way to Delhi from Chandigarh to attend a political meeting when the helicopter in which he was travelling crashed, and he died on the spot.
