The model-turned-actress, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, began her journey in showbiz with a Telegu film, Ye Maaya Chesave, in 2010. And since then, has starred in some of the popular projects in regional cinema. Samantha also ventured into the digital space with Manoj Bajpayee starrer spy thriller, The Family Man. The actress’s personal life, too, has come under the media’s radar every now and then. Samantha got married to Naga Chaitanya in 2017, but the two separated in 2021. Moreover, in 2022, she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called myositis, following which, she took a hiatus from work.
On February 10, 2024, Samantha took to her Instagram stories to announce that she would soon be resuming work. The actress took a long break from work ever since she was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition. Well, her fans can rejoice now as the actress is all set to grace the screens again. The actress, who donned a beautiful red dress, announced that she would release a podcast based on health. Samantha said:
“Hello, so, yes, I am going back to work, finally… But apart from that, in the meantime, I was so completely jobless. But I am doing something fun with a friend. It’s a health podcast. It is quite unexpected, but it is something that I really, really love. I am extremely passionate about it, and I am very excited that it is releasing next week. I hope that some of you really find it extremely useful. And, I think I have enjoyed making this."

In July 2023, the Tamilian actress, Samantha made an announcement pertaining to her career. She mentioned that she would be taking a break from her projects for a minimum of one year to prioritise her health. She received treatment for her autoimmune condition, Myositis, in the United States, and also travelled to various destinations around the world. A source, who spoke to Hindustan Times, said:
“Few months back, Samantha decided that she will be taking a break from acting, and was just waiting to wrap up her projects, Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda and the Indian segment of Citadel with Varun Dhawan. When I checked with her a few months back, she told me that she is not signing any projects currently."

Back in December 2023, Samantha hosted an Ask Me Anything session on her Instagram account. One of her followers asked her if she had any plans to get married again. The question can be read as “Don't you think about marrying again?” To this, the actress had a witty reply to such a question. She penned, “Would be a bad investment according to the statistics,” and shared a screenshot of data that mentioned that second marriages have a divorce rate of 67% for both males and females.
