In an interview with The Indian Express, Riva Arora opened up about the negativity that she receives on social media and revealed how she has been dealing with the trenchant criticism of late. For the unversed, netizens were upset with a music video where Riva was seen romancing Karan Kundrra while it was claimed that she was only 12 years old. Talking about her real age, she said that she's not 12 and her age would be revealed soon. In her words:
“Well, I never focus on such criticism, I always believe that if there’s negativity, there’s also a positive side. I choose to look at the brighter side. The love that I get today has overpowered everything. My actual age will be revealed soon. But all I can say is that I am not 12.”

Earlier, Riva's mother, Nisha gave her a luxurious black Audi car worth Rs. 44 lakhs as a gift to mark the achievement of 10 million followers on Instagram. Taking to her IG handle, Riva shared pictures of herself with her swanky car and looked stunning in a shimmery red gown with a thigh-high slit and sheer detailing on the waist area. Riva's pictures created a stir on social media. While her fans showered her with congratulatory messages, a section of netizens trolled her mercilessly. A few users expressed their concern and enquired if Riva even holds a driving licence, whereas some left no stone unturned to make fun of her age.
