Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani are enjoying the bliss of their newly married life. After dating one another for quite a few years, the duo hopped onto the journey of togetherness on February 21, 2024, in a beachside wedding in Goa. Ever since, the couple has been painting the town red with their mushy romance and unbeatable chemistry. Recently, Rakul walked down the memory lane and talked about the moment when her father met Jackky for the first-time ever.
In an interaction with DNA, Rakul Preet Singh opened up about a special anecdote about her hubby, Jackky Bhagnani. The diva remembered the first time when Jackky came to meet her father, during the initial years of their relationship. The interaction between them took place back in 2021 and Rakul explained how she was worried about everything going smoothly between her father and her then-beau. She added prepping her father to not be awkward before Jackky and said:
“I think I was the most worried. I prepped my dad and told him, ‘He is coming and meeting you for the first time. Do not make it very awkward. He is not army.’ But then fathers being fathers ask the question straight up. But Jackky was prepared.”

Moving forward in the conversation, Rakul Preet Singh mentioned how her husband, Jackky had once flown for her mother's birthday in Delhi.. It so happened that Jackky joined Rakul’s parents for lunch and soon enough, her father questioned the actor-turned-filmmaker about his plans with the former’s daughter. Adding how at that precise moment, food got stuck in her throat, Rakul said:
“He had come to Delhi for my mom’s birthday. I had prepped my dad saying don’t make it awkward because we had just started dating. I told him ‘You just see the boy’. I told Jackky not to worry because he won’t ask anything. Then we were having lunch and my dad asked him what his plan was. He started with plans for his next release Mission Raniganj. My dad just said, ‘Work and all is good but what is your plan with my daughter?” My food got stuck in my throat… The funniest thing was that he just took it very well and said, ‘Whenever she is ready, I am ready.’ And that was it, my father became a fan.”
Earlier, in an interaction at an event organised by the Assam State Film Corporation Limited, Rakul Preet talked about her first impressions of meeting Jackky Bhagnani. The actress revealed that on their first meeting itself, she was instantly wooed by his sense of humour, which created an instant connection between them.

Back on February 24, 2024, Rakul Preet Singh shared a snippet of her life as the new bahu in the Bhagnani family. The then-newly wed bride shared a glimpse of the delicious halwa she prepared for her in-laws, as a part of the chauka chardhana ritual. For the unversed, in Indian cultures, this ritual involves the new bride of the family to prepare a sweet dish for her new family on her first day at the sasural.
