The most adored couple, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas had left their fans stunned by announcing the happy news about embracing parenthood via surrogacy. The couple had seemed to be ecstatic as they hopped on the journey of being parents. Now, reports have surfaced on the internet, stating that the couple had been planning to grow their family when they had bought their LA home. The couple had got their house renovated to make it more family-friendly before welcoming their first child.
The new mommy, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, had taken to her Instagram handle on January 22, 2022, and had announced the arrival of her and Nick's baby. She had posted a picture message, which had revealed that they had welcomed their baby via surrogacy. The duo had also requested privacy to celebrate the time with their family. Her note could be read as:
"We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much."

Now, a report has revealed that the newbie parents, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, were thinking about their baby when they had bought their LA home. The couple was looking for a house in August 2019, and eventually, in November 2019, Dirt.com had reported that Priyanka and Nick had spent $20 million (Rs. 149 crores) for their new Encino estate in Los Angeles.
According to People Magazine, Priyanka and Nick had bought their Los Angeles home keeping their children in mind. The report had also added that the couple had spent months renovating their home, so that it can be child friendly after moving in. A source told the publication:
"When they bought the house together, they had children in mind. They were hoping to have kids and needed a place with a lot of outdoor space and greenery. Priyanka and Nick spent ‘months renovating the house’ after they had moved in. They wanted to make the residence ‘family-friendly.’"

According to a report in the Daily Mail, a source close to the couple had revealed that Nick and Priyanka wanted to have a baby together for quite some time, however, their schedules had hampered their family planning. The source had added that owing to their busy schedule, the couple had explored other options. Nick and Priyanka were connected with a woman in Southern California by an agency, and they had believed her to be a good match. The source was quoted as saying:
"Priyanka doesn't have any fertility issues preventing her from having a baby, but she is 39 now so it's not getting any easier. Their busy work schedules also mean that it's difficult for them to physically be together to conceive when she is ovulating, so some time ago they went down the surrogacy route. This is the woman's fifth surrogacy. They met her and really liked her."
In a report published in the US Weekly, it was suggested that the new parents were blessed with a baby girl. According to the publication, it was also reported that Nick and Priyanka are hoping to have “at least two children” someday. A source had informed that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ daughter was born 12 weeks early at a Southern California hospital outside LA. The report had further added that the baby girl would remain in the hospital till she is healthy enough to return home to Nick and Priyanka. The source had also informed that the couple was expecting their baby in April, and thus, Priyanka had even cleared her work schedule for the same.
On November 5, 2021, Priyanka Chopra Jonas had taken to her Instagram handle to share pictures from the griha pravesh puja of her new home with her husband, Nick Jonas. In the pictures, we could see the couple performing Lakshmi puja at their new home in Los Angeles. They were seen holding a puja ki thali, which had diyas and flowers in it. For the puja, Priyanka was wearing a vibrant yellow saree, whereas Nick was wearing a white kurta-pyjama set. Alongside the pictures, Priyanka had penned:
“Ya devi sarvabhuteshu Lakshmi rupena sangsthita. Namastasye namastasye namastasye namo namaha.With the blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi we invite Her grace and abundance into our home. Happy Diwali.”
