Parambrata Chatterjee is counted as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema today. Being the grand nephew of notable filmmaker, Ritwik Ghatak, Parambrata has rightfully contributed to some of the finest films to date. According to the latest report, Parambrata Chatterjee is all set to tie the knot with his singer-activist girlfriend, Piya Chakraborty today, in a low-key ceremony, in the presence of very close friends and family members. For the unversed, Piya happens to be the ex-wife of talented singer, Anupam Roy, whom she married in 2015. However, they called it quits in November 2021. While none of them ever divulged the reason behind the same, it was widely speculated that it was Piya’s close affection towards Parambrata that ended their marriage.

After months of speculation hinting at irreconcilable troubles hitting their marital paradise, on November 11, 2021, Anupam Roy and his then-wife, Piya Chakraborty announced their divorce with a joint statement. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), they jointly announced a statement and revealed that they chose to walk separate paths, while keeping an amicable equation with one another. An excerpt from the statement can be read as:
“We, Anupam and Piya, have mutually decided to conclude our marital relationship and pursue our own independent trajectories as friends. Our journey together has been a beautiful one, full of treasured experiences and happy memories. However, due to personal differences, we think it is best to part ways as husband and wife. We continue to be the closest of friends that we have always been and remain deeply invested in each other's well-being.”
Well, back when Anupam and Piya had announced their mutual decision to opt for divorce, various speculations had arisen about it, which hinted at Parambrata being the sole reason behind the ex-couple’s split. Apparently, the actor was a close friend of both of them and after he developed feelings for Piya, Anupam had soured his relations with him. However, it is noteworthy to mention that whenever Parambrata has been enquired about his role in Anupam and Piya’s divorce, he denied all such buzz and maintained the stance that he had been a very close friend of both.

For the unversed, Parambrata, who has often been counted as one of the most eligible bachelors in Bengali cinema, has been in a few relationships before. At the beginning of his career, he was speculated to be dating actress, Swastika Mukherjee. The duo had started dating while shooting a film together. However, their affair was short-lived, and they broke up some time later. After that, Parambrata was said to be in a long-distance relationship with his Netherland-based girlfriend, Ike Schouten. The duo dated for long before calling it quits during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
