While most of us celebrate our birthdays partying and hanging out with our friends, some of us do love to pamper ourselves on our special day. The celebrities are no different. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame, Karan Mehra’s actress-wife, Nisha Rawal is an exemplar of the same as she treated herself with a pampering session two days before her birthday. (Also Read: Taimur Ali Khan Piggybacks On Abba, Saif Ali Khan In Dharamshala, Kareena Kapoor Khan Gives Glimpses)

Before stepping into the world of acting, Nisha Rawal had done some advertisements and music videos. She had made her television debut with Aane Wala Pal on Doordarshan and Bollywood debut with Rafoo Chakkar in 2008. Known for her role in Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, Nisha had married Karan Mehra in 2012 after meeting him on the sets of Hastey Hastey and dating for six years before tying the knot. Four years into marital bliss, when Karan Mehra was in the Bigg Boss house, his wife, Nisha Rawal had found out that she’s pregnant and in 2017, the lovebirds had welcomed their little bundle of joy, Kavish Mehra into their lives.

Two days before her birthday, Nisha Rawal decided to gift herself something as she is on her journey of self-love. Giving glimpses of the same, Nisha wrote in the caption, “This is going to be a special birthday! Since I have been on my journey of self-love, I decided to gift myself many firsts this year for my birthday. These Tattoos have been on my mind forever, while many of us might think, why a tattoo especially during such Covid crisis & since I love u all so much, I decided to answer this question by saying that this is a milestone birthday for me and I wanted to make it extra special, the one that I shall remember forever! My Bebu @realkaranmehra thank you for always being by my side for all the madness I wish to indulge in. What my tattoos stand for: 4 bands = Baby Angel, Kavish, Honey, my 1st pet & Dad. For the uninitiated, Baby Angel is Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal’s unborn child, whom they had terminated in the year 2014. Nisha had started her Instagram page, The Motherhood Chronicles, wherein she shares her motherhood experiences, tips and facts about pregnancy with the fellow to-be mommies followers. Sometime back, Nisha had shared a video on elective abortion and revealed that they had lost a child in 2014 by terminating their pregnancy. Nisha had captioned her video as “ELECTIVE ABORTION - I always say I only talk on topics that I have had experience on. So here I am, sharing the most difficult topic to share! Losing a CHILD, is a loss that I could compare to losing a limb, not a day goes by, when you don’t remember your lost child.”

Speaking about her experience on elective abortion and why they had to terminate their pregnancy in 2014, Nisha Rawal had revealed what she calls her unborn child and concluded her video with “You must be wondering what am I talking about. Yes, we lost a baby. She lives in the baby heaven and I call her, Angel Rawal Mehra. September 6, 2014, she was five months old and she was unborn. The worst is we terminated the pregnancy because we were medically advised to do so. She suffered from Trisomy 18, which is a chromosomal disorder. She had three holes in her heart. It’s like one day we were planning her nursery and other day, I wasn’t pregnant anymore. My tears are still fresh, my wound is still unhealed, my memories are still crisp and my regret, it grows stronger than ever and that’s why, it was important for me to tell you this. Please, process your pain, don’t run away from it, take your time. Time doesn’t heal if you don’t participate in the healing process. Acknowledgment of your loss is your participation. Just grieve.”
