Mulayam Singh Yadav's Death: Akhilesh, Narendra Modi, More Pay Tribute To Samajwadi Party's Founder

Indian politics suffered a major blow on October 10, 2022, after the founder-patron of the famous socialist party, Samajwadi Party, Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away. The news of his demise stunned Indian politicians and left a massive void that would never be filled. The politician often referred to as 'Netaji', had also served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for three consecutive years. Not only this, but Mulayam Singh Yadav had also served as the Minister of Defence from 1996 to 1998. Despite all the controversies and his infamous quote on rapes in India, Mulayam Singh Yadav was a massive figure in Uttar Pradesh's political history, courtesy of the fact that he was the patron of the Samajwadi Party.

Not everyone is aware that Mulayam Singh Yadav was once a wrestler and got into politics in the late 1980s. He had never wanted to be a politician during his childhood, but his destiny made him one of the most influential personalities in Indian politics. No doubt, his demise will have a massive impact on Uttar Pradesh's political future, as everything now belongs to his son, Akhilesh Yadav, who is still catching up to his father's mammoth legacy.

On October 10, 2022, Samajwadi Party supremo, Mulayam Singh Yadav breathed his last at the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. The veteran politician was admitted to the hospital for some days before his demise. As per the latest reports, Mulayam Singh Yadav reportedly died due to a urinary tract infection, hypertension, and breathing issues. The reports of the veteran politician's death were all over the media, but it was his son, Akhilesh Yadav's tweet, that confirmed the tragic news and left everyone in immense sadness. The doting son tweeted a small note in his tweet in which he confirmed that his father and everyone's loving 'Netaji' is no longer with us. His tweet can be read as:

"Mere adarniya pita ji aur sabke Netaji nahi rahe - Shri Akhilesh Yadav."

Soon after Akhilesh Yadav confirmed his father and veteran politician, Mulayam Singh Yadav's demise, the honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi also reacted to the tragic news. The PM shared two pictures from his meetings with Mulayam Singh Yadav, in which the two can be spotted sharing a warm and friendly conversation with each other. Along with the pictures, Narendra Modi also penned a few words in the veteran politician's memory. In his note, the Prime Minister referred to Mulayam Singh Yadav as a humble, remarkable, and grounded leader. His tweet can be read as:

"Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji was a remarkable personality. He was widely admired as a humble and grounded leader who was sensitive to people's problems. He served people diligently and devoted his life towards popularising the ideals of Loknayak JP and Dr. Lohia."

After Narendra Modi's emotional tweet in Mulayam Singh Yadav's memory, a series of politicians paid their heartfelt tributes on Twitter. The current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath shared a series of tweets in which he prayed for the veteran politician's family and loved ones. Also, the Minister of Defence of India, Rajnath Singh, praised his longtime political opponent with some kind and warm words.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah also penned a few words in Mulayam Singh Yadav's memory and hailed him as a great leader. However, it was Mayawati's reaction to Mulayam Singh Yadav's death that caught everyone's attention, as she was his biggest opponent in UP politics. Her tweet can be read as:

"Very sad news of the passing away of veteran Samajwadi Party leader and former Chief Minister of UP Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav ji today. My deepest condolences to his family and all well wishers. May nature give them all the strength to bear this sorrow."
