Popular actress, Ankita Lokhande became a household name for her stellar acting prowess in the daily soap, Pavitra Rishta. She nailed the role of 'Archana' and etched her place in the hearts of millions of fans. After her impressive stint in Bigg Boss 17, Ankita is currently on a success spree. Ankita was last seen in the film, Swatantra Veer Savarkar, opposite Randeep Hooda in the lead role and garnered much appreciation for her role.
According to a report in News18 Showsha, a source close to Ankita Lokhande revealed that the actress was offered a role in Karan Johar’s upcoming project, Student Of The Year 3. However, the Pavitra Rishta actress rejected it for the reasons best known to her. The source added that Student Of The Year 3 will be a web series, but Ankita doesn't want to be a part of it. The source revealed:
“Yes, Ankita was approached for Student Of The Year 3. I am not sure about the role she was offered but she was definitely asked if she could be a part of the SOTY franchise. However, she has rejected the offer and nobody knows the reason behind her decision.”

The first film of the Student Of The Year franchise was released in 2012 and marked the acting debut of three newcomers into Bollywood, including Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan. The second film, released in 2019, featured Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. Now, reports are rife that Karan Johar is planning to launch Shanaya Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan in the web series, Student Of The Year 3. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the same as of now.
This hasn’t been the first time that Ankita Lokhande has hit the headlines for rejecting a film offer. Previously, in an interview with a leading daily, the actress revealed that she rejected Bajirao Mastani. Ankita recalled how filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali warned her not to let go of his offer for the film, but she wanted to prioritise her personal life at that time. Recalling the same, she had said:
“I remember Sanjay sir called me and said, ‘Kar le ye Bajirao varna yaad rakh pachtayegi tu '. He was literally praising me and coming from Sanjay sir it is a very big thing. Then I was like, ‘Nahi sir, mujhe shaadi karni hai . I still remember that and he did not have anything to say, and I quit on it.”

Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain made many headlines after their appearance in the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 17. In a candid conversation with ETimes TV, Ankita reflected on her journey on Bigg Boss 17 and opened up about her experience dealing with depression after coming out of the show. She shared that she started having anxiety issues along with palpitations and couldn't sleep the entire night. However, she could overcome all of it with the support of her entire family. Ankita said:
"After Bigg Boss, things do affect me, I won't deny it. I started to have anxiety issues and I used to discuss with Vicky that I was going into depression. That was the point when I realised that this is anxiety. I couldn't sleep the entire night thinking about several things. I used to get palpitation, Mujhe Khauf hogaya tha cheezon ka... but now everything is fine. Ye sab cheezein theek hui because I had the support of my entire family."
