Mrunal Thakur is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood at the moment. Despite helming from the world of television and absolutely no privileged backing, she has made it to the top of the ladder with her own hard work and dedicated efforts. From bagging big budget films in the south to making her debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2023, Mrunal has truly mesmerised everyone with her incomparable talents.
In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Mrunal Thakur opened up about the scepticism she received from many filmmakers frequently, since her physical appearance cannot be represented as the epitome of sexy on the celluloid. The actress further revealed being asked to lose some weight, so as to be able to pull off the perfect feminine avatar in her films. However, Mrunal then went onto reveal how she doesn’t want to lose weight in order to appear sexy, as it would mean her becoming uncomfortable in her own skin. In her words:
“I have immense faith in my team because they transform me. As an actor, it is important for me to be neutral, because then all the filmmakers around me can mould me into that character. What is it that people want to see? I did a song and people were like don’t do this, you have to lose weight. I said, listen, I have thick thighs and I own them, and I am so comfortable. If I am not uncomfortable, then why are you uncomfortable?”

Previously, in one of her interactions with a leading daily, Mrunal Thakur retrospected about the time when she made her giant leap of faith towards the South Indian film industry. She remarked that since she took such an important decision in her career while she was at her peak in Bollywood, it led to many comments that the step ahead for her wouldn’t be less than an acid test. Narrating more about the horrific headlines she read, Mrunal said:
“There were all kinds of articles written, one was that this is an ‘Acid test for Mrunal Thakur.’ But here’s the thing, I am not on a target to do five films in a year. I will, if they are good. I really am just following my intuition and I am fearless.”
Well, it is quite commendable to state how much Mrunal Thakur has made her own way into a competitive field as that of Bollywood, without having as much as any support or backing. In one of older interactions, Mrunal Thakur revealed an incident in her career when she got awarded in a ceremony. The actress revealed that she had won an award along with Janhvi Kapoor, and unfortunately, it was the latter who got more media coverage. Moreover, she also revealed how a journalist left her interview mid-way and instead ran behind Janhvi to cover her interview.

Back during the promotions of her film, Aankh Micholi, Mrunal Thakur talked about her plans of marriage and settling down in life. In an interaction with India Today, the actress revealed that her family, especially her parents have been putting a lot of pressure on her to get married. However, when it comes to her, she isn’t choosy about any particular man of her dreams. When probed further, Mrunal hilariously remarked:
“Koi miley bhi toh.”
