As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility. But only a few realise the same and take a step to make this world a better place. From Twinkle Khanna, Renuka Shahane, Sushmita Sen, Kalki Koechlin, Dia Mirza, Akshay Kumar to Abhay Deol, B-town celebs know that their small act can touch many lives and change the perspective of millions, and have acted accordingly when it comes to social issues. Just like with fame comes responsibility, trolls too, are the part and parcel with stardom. And not only celebs, their family is also subjected to the same. This time, Shahid Kapoor’s wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor becomes the target of trolls as she gets schooled on social media for casually using ‘split personality’ in her caption. This isn’t the first time when the star-wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor is trolled on social media. Not even today, her “my child is not a puppy” controversy is forgotten by netizens. While Shahid Kapoor and Mira are the poster couple for arranged marriages in the millennial era, they are also criticised for promoting the same and having children at an early age. For getting her little one, Misha Kapoor’s hair coloured to not taking her kids on vacation with them, Mira isn’t new to the negative comments of the netizens.
A few hours ago, Mira Rajput Kapoor posted a selfie on her IG handle but it was her caption which had grabbed the attention of netizens, and for all wrong reasons. Mira flaunted her new look as she gave herself a haircut at home and for her ‘pun intended’ ‘split personality’ caption, she was schooled by netizens. Dressed in a blue and green coloured t-shirt, Mira captioned her selfie as “Split personality. Also gave myself a haircut. #tamethesplits #punintended.” Mira was called out for casually using the disorder, split personality, in her caption. For the uninitiated, split personality is a dissociative identity disorder, in which a person has two or more distinct personalities.
When Vogue Wedding Book had released their 2019 edition, the lovebirds, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had posed for the cover. While for some, Shahid and Mira had stolen their hearts with just one glance at their sizzling chemistry in the pictures, for others, B-town superstar’s wife being featured on the cover became a subject of the trolls. Netizens had trolled star wife, Mira for her double standards as she doesn’t support nepotism but chose to feature on a magazine cover just because she is Shahid’s wife. In August 2018, when Mira Rajput Kapoor was in the third trimester of her second pregnancy, she had collaborated with Olay on a commercial and had stepped into the showbiz world with her first TV ad. Mira had shared her commercial on her social media handle, and had captioned it, “Being a mother doesn’t mean you stop being yourself right? I took the #Olay #SkinTransformation #28Daychallenge Here’s my #Reborn story.. what’s yours? @olayindia”. Mira’s acting debut had made her the new target of trolls. While some had claimed that she is too young to do an anti-ageing cream advertisement, others had said she should have not copied Kareena Kapoor Khan.
In an interview with Times Now, when Mira Rajput Kapoor was asked about being trolled for the commercial, she had retorted, “The internet is one platform that is accessible to everyone. People can say what they feel and it gives everyone the right to express themselves the way they want and to what extent they feel like. So, there will be opinions. It's not that everyone is going to love you. I have always spoken for myself and I have never shied away from expressing what I truly feel.” She had continued, “It’s not something new for me. Nowadays, people receive backlash for whatever they do or say. It is the way the internet is. At some level, it is a bit sad.” (Also Read: Mira Rajput Kapoor Relives Delhi Days On 'Shawarma Night With Parents', Gives Glimpse Of Dinner Date)
