Television actress, Payal Rohatgi has been leading the headlines ever since she had participated in one of the most controversial shows, Lock Upp. The show produced by Ekta Kapoor and hosted by Kangana Ranaut saw celebrities from different backgrounds, revealing shocking secrets of their lives. Payal was also one such contestant, who left everyone's jaws dropped with the revelations from her personal life. However, as she had won the runner-up position in the show, she shared an old post of the same and penned a long note, taking a dig at the show's producer, Ekta Kapoor, host, Kangana Ranaut and winner, Munawar Faruqui.
For the unversed, Payal Rohatgi is engaged with her wrestler boyfriend, Sangram Singh. And in an episode of the show, Lock Upp Payal had made a shocking revelation that she had advised Sangram to look for someone else to marry as she could not get pregnant. But, on the other hand, Sangram had also visited and proposed to her for marriage on the reality show.

On May 17, 2022, Payal Rohatgi took to her IG handle and shared an old post of the reality show, Lock Upp. Along with it, she penned a lengthy note mentioning that she was visibly upset for not winning the show. She targeted the show's producer, Ekta Kapoor, host, Kangana Ranaut and winner, Munawar Faruqui. Talking about the same, she wrote:
"Sad PR gimmick by …….Using jobless celebrities to target me. Point is if they know the lazy winner of #lockup and they have watched the show called #Lockup then they need to know Payal and the understand meaning of the word #BADASS. Kangana and lot of A grade celebrities who came as guests on #lockupp called me #BADASS. Maybe they didn’t know the meaning of it then in the middle of the show and on finale Kangana realised it."
Further, in the note, Payal mentioned that the show's winner concept was like the 'GHAR GHAR KI KAHANI' types. She pointed toward Munawar Faruqui and said that he bagged the winner award even after having a wife, a child, a girlfriend, romancing with co-contestant, and targeting others. She added that the winner had also 'MENTALLY' attacked the players and explained:
"So that means the concept of the show was a OCCHA thought and so THEY made winner of Ghar Ghar ki kahani types after bonding with host of #Biggboss one week before finale when the whole season all Kangana said was that this show is not GHAR GHAR KI KAHANI types. A winner had a wife and a child and a girlfriend was busy having romance with another woman in the show and the jobless celebrities found that REAL. The so called winner used to MENTALLY attack the players and if that is funny then I feel sad for all of them."

Payal concluded the note by mentioning that she had unfollowed Kangana Ranaut and asked her to think before talking stupidly. Then, ending the note with a daring line, she penned:
"Unfollowing Kangana. Wish her film ….. So called celebrities think before u talk stupid stuff in media and look like jerks #payalrohatgi. Posted @withregram @lockuppgame Wo dare hi kya jo darr na paida kar sake! Can Payal handle it?"
As soon as Payal penned the note, she was highly trolled on social media. One netizen wrote, "Munawar ke 3 million ka sadma laga hain usko.." Another user mentioned, "I was supporting you atleast 2 weeks before the finale, but this kind of thing makes you so bad, is tarah ke post se koi kaam nahi dega tumko, waise hi roti rehti ho.... Unfollowing you right now, HATS OFF TO SANGRAM..." While one other user commented, "Get well soon payal", and many more.
