The 'Klan', aka the Kardashian-Jenner family, consisting of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie, and their mom, Kris, is one of the most known socialites in the world. Along with starring in the very popular reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and now The Kardashians, the Klan also runs successful business ventures. The American supermodel, Kendall Jenner, recently got featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 and opened up about her tequila brand, 818, and how it is to work with her momager, Kris Jenner.
For the unversed, Kendall’s younger sister Kylie Jenner owns a cosmetic company, Kylie Cosmetics and a clothing brand, Khy. Her half-sister, Kim, has several businesses under her name, including her shapewear company, Skims. On the other hand, Khloe runs a denim company, Good American, and the eldest of all, Kourtney, owns a health and wellness company, Poosh.

The 28-year-old supermodel, Kendall Jenner, shared in an interview with Forbes that she often forgets that Kris Jenner is her mom as well. The 818 Tequila founder spoke about how she differentiates her business and familial bonds. She said:
“My mom is my mom, but she’s also my manager. We have moments when we’re talking on the phone, and we’re talking about business, maybe having a heated conversation about something, and then all of a sudden, she’s like, ‘OK, I love you. How are you feeling today?’ and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, yeah, you’re my mom, too!’”
At the Forbes Under 30 Summit in Cleveland in October 2023, the model, Kendall Jenner revealed that owning her own business has helped her rediscover herself. It is worth noting that, unlike her sisters, Kendall has launched her tequila brand anonymously, sans any flashy Instagram campaigns. She revealed her feelings on the same and said:
“We wanted to get true, honest feedback. I wanted the liquid and the brand to stand on their own and for people to love it without me even having to be a part of it because I just wanted it to be that good.”

Tequila has a special place in Kendall’s heart. She attributes her love for it to her parents, who regularly consumed it while she was growing up. As an adult, her passion for it only grew stronger. During the pandemic, Kendall conducted blind taste tests for her family and friends. She would compare their favourite tequila brands against her new product. Kendall said:
“With modelling, I was a part of someone else’s vision. I was their character and whoever they wanted me to be at that moment. The shift into being a founder and owning my own business was a really cool way of getting to know myself again.”
The 68-year-old momager, Kris Jenner, an investor in her daughter’s tequila brand, praised Kendall’s business skills. The mother of six also commended Kendall's work with the brand. She said:
“Kendall has been very independent about this process and really shown me that she’s not only an amazing businesswoman, but super-smart, super-focused, [has an] amazing work ethic. She has every single part of what it takes to be in her position, and she’s nailing it.”
