Kareena Kapoor Khan is one such actress who time and again, makes it to the headlines through her candid conversations or frank opinions. She is fearless about receiving objections and has always followed her heart no matter what, which has often led to her getting praised for her mature stance on most things. For instance, when it comes to her personal life, she has always maintained a very respectful relationship with her hubby, Saif Ali Khan’s past that includes his ex-wife, Amrita Singh and their children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Proof of the same was found when Kareena for the first time, ever spoke about Saif’s ex-wife, Amrita Singh.
Saif Ali Khan and his first wife, Amrita Singh parted ways in 2004 after 13 years of togetherness. Years later, in 2012, Saif gave love a second chance in his life when he tied the knot with Kareena Kapoor. While these two instances have been quite vivid and distant in the timeline, however, Amrita and Kareena have never met each other even for once in their lives. Well, Kareena herself spoke about the same when she graced the chat show, Koffee With Karan. When the show’s host, Karan Johar asked Kareena if she ever had the need in her personal life to keep a balance with Saif’s ex, Amrita, the Tashan actress promptly mentioned how she never met her and, in fact, she has the utmost respect for her. Emphasising on the fact that she dated Saif long after he was divorced, she mentioned:
“No, but I have utmost respect and regard for her. We've never met. I met Saif many years after he got divorced. So, it was not on anyone's time. He was clearly single.”

While Amrita and Saif have called quits as man and wife, the latter does still carry out his fatherly responsibilities most dotingly for their children, Sara and Ibrahim. Moreover, the two even enjoy a great bond with Saif’s now-wife, Kareena Kapoor and there has never been any sort of animosity or awkwardness between them. Speaking about the same, Kareena once, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror mentioned how she has emphasised to both Saif as well his children, Sara and Ibrahim that she does not wish to become their mom, since they already have the best one at that. Instead, she would love to become their best friend who loves them dearly and is always there for them. In her words:
“I have always said this to Saif, Sara and Ibrahim that I can only be their friend, I can never be their mother because they already have an amazing mother who’s brought them up spectacularly. I’m meant to be their friend. I love them dearly and whenever I am wanted or my advice needed, I’m there for both at any point in their life.”
Well, even Saif’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan has a very respectful and mature understanding of her relationship with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Sara has always mentioned how she has looked up on Kareena as one of the finest actresses and even when she got married to her father, she was every bit happy about the same. Moreover, she also highlighted how Kareena has always been very direct and clear with their relationship and has never imposed anything on her. Gracing the celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan, Sara spilled beans on the same and mentioned:
“You know everybody has been very clear with me. It has never been confusing. Kareena herself was saying and she still says that 'You have a mother and you have a great mother at that. What I want is for us to be able to be friends.' My father also never said, 'This is your second mother' or made it anyway uncomfortable.”

Amrita Singh on the other hand, has also maintained quite a modern and respectful stance about her ex-husband, Saif Ali Khan and has always ensured that nothing from the past comes in the way of his relationship with his children. Proof of the same was found when contrary to popular reports stating that Amrita had stopped her children from attending their father’s marriage to Kareena Kapoor in 2012, she came out loud and revealed that she nurses no ills against Kareena and, in fact it was she herself who was ecstatic to get her kids, Sara and Ibrahim party ready for attending the wedding. She had mentioned:
“Let me tell you, I was the one who put together the entire wardrobe for my daughter that evening. I also dressed up both my kids, Sara and Ibrahim, for Saif’s wedding with Kareena.”
