All is not well in the marital life of television’s favourite and now estranged couple, Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal. It was in May 2021, when the rumours of trouble in their paradise had surfaced in the media. On June 1, 2021, the rumours turned out to be true when Karan was arrested from his Mumbai home on the night of May 31, 2021, after Nisha had lodged a complaint of domestic violence against him.

On June 1, 2021, Karan Mehra was granted bail and in an interview with Hindustan Times, Karan shared his side of the story, revealing how Nisha had played the bechari girl card. He also talked about Nisha being bipolar and having bouts of violent streaks. On the other hand, Nisha held a press conference, where she opened about her troubled married life with Karan, his extra-marital affair, and his physical abuse. The once madly-in-love couple is leaving no stone unturned to wash their dirty linen in public.
Now, in an interview with ANI, Karan spoke about being worried for their son, Kavish Mehra because of the ongoing public brawl between him and Nisha. Raising concern for his son’s safety, Karan said, “I feel my son is not safe with Nisha anymore. Earlier I happily decided to let Kavish live with Nisha but now I really don't know. I don't want my child to get affected. I am really worried about him. It's heartbreaking to see whatever is happening.”
Karan further stated that he and Nisha had decided to part ways amicably for Kavish. But the alimony quoted by Nisha was very high and he could not agree to it, leading to the fights. In his words, “We were not happy living with each other so we decided to mutually separate from each other. I also thought it's better for our son nothing is more important than peace. But the alimony that she asked was quite high and I disagreed to pay that heavy amount to her. All this led to heated arguments and continuous fights.”

In his interview with the Hindustan Times, Karan Mehra had revealed that Nisha was diagnosed as bipolar and it was her, who had banged her head on the wall and blamed him for it. Talking about the same, Karan had shared, “They can't hold me ransom, so I told them to go ahead. Later, Nisha barged into my bedroom, as we have been sleeping in separate bedrooms since a while. She began shouting and abusing my family, told me, I will ruin your life, spat on me and I calmly told her not to behave in this manner and to go back to her bedroom. I didn't want to talk right then. I got up to go into the bathroom when she suddenly banged her head on the wall and said, 'ab dekho kya hota hai'. Actually, Nisha has mood swings and violent anger streak. She would throw stuff and hit herself and others. Five-six years ago, she was diagnosed as bipolar. People, including our friends and relatives have seen her behaviour in public and I couldn't take it anymore."
