Something similar had happened with Roohi actress, Janhvi Kapoor as her childhood was a big lie for her. In a chat show, Janhvi recalled the hilarious story of how her mother, Sridevi, taught her the wrong spelling of her name.
Janhvi Kapoor was extremely close to her mother, so much that she was spotted with Sridevi at every event. Sridevi’s sudden death on February 24, 2021, had come as a shock for all her fans, and Janhvi was broken as she was away from her mom in her last days. She misses her dearly, and on her 58th birth anniversary, Janhvi shared her childhood picture with her amma on her IG handle. She captioned it as "Happy birthday Mumma. I miss you. Everything is for you, always, every day. I love you."

Recently, Janhvi Kapoor appeared on the chat show, Social Media Star with Janice, and while talking about how her name is always mispronounced, she recalled a hilarious story of her name. Remembering how for eight years, she spelt her name incorrectly because of her late mother, Sridevi, Janhvi shared, “When I was in school, I had just started learning how to spell. I genuinely didn't know the spelling of my name. Mom was showering in her bathroom and I yelled out to her. ‘Mumma, how do you spell my name?’ She misspelled my name. She said J-A-N-H-A-V-I. And for some reason, I never questioned it. For eight years."
Janhvi hilariously added how she got to know the right spelling of her name and how her friends made fun of her for this. She added, “We were going somewhere, I think to London, and I finally opened my passport and I was like, my whole life has been a lie. My friends still make fun of me. Every time I tell them something, they say, ‘You need to shut up because you didn’t know how to spell your name until you were 12.”

On late actress, Sridevi’s third death anniversary, Janhvi had shared a handwritten letter of her late mother, where she had penned her love for her daughter. In the handwritten note, we could read a heartmelting message from a mother for her baby. It could be read as “I love you my labbu you are the best baby in the world.” Sharing her mother’s note, Janhvi had captioned it as “Miss u.”
Sridevi and Janhvi Kapoor share a striking resemblance. A fan page had once made a collage with close-up shots of both Janhvi and Sridevi, and they had personified beauty. On the left side, we could see Janhvi’s picture, clad in a red sequin saree with a deep V-neck blouse, accentuating her look with bold red lipstick and bindi. Whereas, on the right side, we could see, Sridevi in a plain red georgette saree with a V-neck blouse. She had opted for silver junk jewellery and had donned a red bindi and lipstick to it. The picture had proved that Janhvi is a mirror image of her late mother, Sridevi
