The famous entrepreneur, Ghazal Alagh was born on September 2, 1988, in a middle-class family in Haryana's Gurugram. Just like most of the Indian middle-class households, Ghazal has also learnt the art of sacrificing personal wishes over the family's needs. However, her parents did everything in their power to give proper education and values to their daughter. Well, Ghazal capitalised on these two things and created a bright future that is now an inspiration for so many aspiring middle-class children, not just in Haryana but across the nation.
As per multiple reports, Ghazal Alagh completed her schooling in Gurgaon. However, for higher studies, she went to the prestigious Punjab University, where she completed her Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications. Soon after her graduation, Ghazal decided to study Modern Art in Design and Applied Arts during a summer intensive semester. After gaining more interest in it, she subsequently took a figurative art intensive course at the New York Academy of Art. No wonder Ghazal's solid educational background has helped her journey in scaling his company as an entrepreneur.
One of the reasons why Ghazal Alagh's success story feels personal to a lot of people goes to her humble beginnings. It was in October 2023 when she revealed that her first income was Rs. 1200 per day. The entrepreneur revealed that she used to work as a weekend corporate trainer, and although the amount looks quite small but it will always remain close to her heart.
Not everyone is aware of the fact that Ghazal Alagh worked at NIIT as a trainee in software applications when she was in Chandigarh back in 2008. Another major milestone in Ghazal's professional career came when she launched a website by the name Dietexpert, and it was centred around diet plans and lifestyle. With time and her constant efforts, Ghazal's website started getting a lot of traffic. She was also named one of India's top 10 female artists after she started putting her artworks on the internet.

Ghazal Alagh and Varun Alagh got married on January 28, 2011, after dating each other for some years. After some years of their marriage, they welcomed their first child, who was a baby boy and they lovingly named him Agastya. However, the baby boy was born with the popular skin condition, eczema. It was a difficult situation for Ghazal and Varun as their son was allergic to most of the Indian brands.
After doing a lot of research, Ghazal Alagh and Varun Alagh found that some of the ingredients used in the making of baby products in India are not up to the mark. As a result, Ghazal and Varun decided to build a brand that would produce toxins and chemical-free products for children and people in India. It was a challenging task to build a brand from scratch, but their goal drove Ghazal and Varun to help fellow parents. Soon, they started building products of utmost quality for the masses and started focusing on people of all ages and genders.
For the unversed, Ghazal Alagh's brand, Mamaearth is the first brand in Asia to earn the MadeSafe label in this particular sector. The MadeSafe label is given to brands that make 100% toxin-free products for babies and kids.
