Fawad Afzal Khan is a name synonymous with charismatic personality, dashing looks and impeccable acting skills. The Pakistani actor, singer, and producer did not just make a name for himself in Lollywood but also won the hearts of millions in India. Fawad, who primarily rose to popularity with Pakistani dramas such as Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai, has worked on Indian films such as Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Khoobsurat and Kapoor & Sons.
Fawad Khan also led the Pakistani showbiz to achieve its first ever 100 Crore film, and the feat became possible with his 2022 movie, The Legend Of Maula Jatt. Unlike others, the 42-year-old is very selective about his projects, and that's the reason why he has done only a handful of films and dramas since he stepped into the world of glitz and glamour.

The Pakistani superstar, Fawad Khan, recently graced Ahmad Ali Butt’s podcast, Excuse Me, and shared some unheard anecdotes from his professional and personal life. During their conversation, the two delved into Fawad’s singing and acting career and proceeded to talk about his family’s reaction to his professional choices. Ahmad Ali asked the 42-year-old about his immensely popular drama, Humsafar, starring opposite Mahira Khan. In the drama, Fawad played the role of 'Ashar Hussain' and Mahira played the role of 'Khirad Ashar Hussain'. The host said that after the drama aired on TV, it became a phenomenon in the country, and redefined Fawad as an actor. He further asked the actor what convinced him to Humsafar, and Fawad said:
“I wasn't convinced, it was just a it was a paycheck. I didn't want to do it, so Humsafar ne bohot kuch diya hai, and I think it mostly worked because it's not really a unique story right or many more stories like that were being told at that time, I think it was the combination of the people who did it the people who came together to do it um that's what made it somehow different.”
Fawad Khan then mentioned that the OST of Humsafar had to do a lot with regard to its popularity. He said that the song was a marvel. The actor further added that he always wanted to work on some unique scripts and so, he rejected the script of Humsafar twice. But after much negotiations, he ended up doing the drama by slightly changing the script here and there. During their conversation, Ahmad Ali asked what the actor would choose differently if he were to be a part of Humsafar again. To this, Fawad Khan said the different thing would be that he won’t be a part of it. Fawad mentioned:
“I have something against, not something against because ek OD ho chuka hai, mujhe hamesha ye lagta tha ki kuch different karna hai it does not necessarily mean just for the sake of alag kare. When this script came, I kind of said no once, I said no twice, and the third Momna is very persistent, and then I was like okay, and then I went, and I did it. I wasn't in love with it. I mean I've fond memories, you see the thing is that it created a lot of like you said household name, so I owe it a lot, it's like that scenario where you don't get to choose your parents and siblings in life but um if you ask me if I would do it again, no I wouldn't.”
