Bollywood actress and environment activist, Dia Mirza had tied the knot with Mumbai-based businessman, Vaibhav Rekhi on February 15, 2021. After a few months of their marital bliss, Dia Mirza had given a sweet surprise to her millions of fans and revealed that she would soon be a mother. She had shared a baby bump picture from her honeymoon diaries. It was on May 14, 2021, when the adorable couple, Dia and Vaibhav were blessed with a baby boy, who they have named, Avyaan Azaad Rekhi.
The doting mommy is living the best days of her life ever since she has embraced motherhood. Dia has been updating her fans and friends about the special days of her life, on her social media handles. As a matter of fact, this Diwali, is going to be her first Diwali not only as a mother but also as a newlywed. In an interview, she has said that she feels grateful to be able to celebrate her first Diwali with their son, Avyaan.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Dia Mirza talked about her little munchkin, Avyaan, and shared how excited she is to celebrate her first Diwali with him. The doting mother shared that her son was tended to by nurses and doctors in the neonatal ICU until he was ready to go home. Talking about the same, the 39-year-old actress shared:
“It is overwhelming to see Avyaan celebrate his first Diwali after all the challenges he had to overcome this year. He is truly a little champ and it has been so enriching to see him deal with everything that came his way with a big smile and such a pure, joyful spirit.”
The Thappad actor herself had faced a lot of health challenges throughout her pregnancy, and thankfully, both the baby and Mirza triumphed over the crisis and survived. Recalling those difficult days, Dia shared:
“I hope, as adults, we too can go back to this state of utter innocence and trust in the universe. Both Vaibhav and I, are truly grateful to be able to celebrate our very first Diwali with Avyaan.”

Dia Mirza has been sharing glimpses of her son, Avyaan's cute moments with her, and always leaves her fans gushing over the cutesy pictures. The doting mother had shared Avyaan's hand-painted nursery asserts and had stolen our hearts. Further, the actress shared that just like every year, all the festivities will be sustainable, green and mindful of the environment. Dia also added that she wants to continue this tradition with her son, and said:
“I want to raise my son on a planet that is healthy and not choking on waste and toxins. Be it switching to a plant-based diet, saving energy or not bursting crackers, every choice I make is for the future of the planet and for my son.”
To announce her first pregnancy at the age of 39, Dia Mirza had posted a throwback picture from their Maldives vacation. In the beautiful picture, Dia was seen flaunting her baby bump at the time of sunset and to announce the good news, she had written:
"Blessed to be... One with Mother Earth... One with the Life Force that is the beginning of everything... Of all stories. Lullabies. Songs. Of new saplings. And the blossoming of hope. Blessed to cradle this purest of all dreams in my womb. Photo by @vaibh_r #SunsetKeDiVaNe."
