Now heat some butter in a pan and sauté the onions till brown in colour. Add the tomato-moong daal mixture, sugar, low-fat milk, salt and pepper and mix well. Place red bell peppers, onions, garlic, jalapeno and tomatoes in a saucepan with vegetable broth and bring to a boil over medium heat. Once the veggies are tender, puree it in a blender. Cool the soup and add the fresh herbs.

Add onions and garlic, and cook until translucent. Meanwhile add tomatoes, carrots, green pepper, and jalapeno to a blender and mix until blended but still chunky. Once onions are done, add spices and 1 teaspoon salt to the pot and cook for 1 minute. Add shredded chicken, tomato mixture, chicken broth, corn, beans, and 1/2 cup cilantro. Add 1 cup water if soup is too thick for your taste. Simmer until corn is tender and flavours develop. Add more salt if necessary.
