Deepika Padukone and her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor made headlines in 2008 and 2009. The actress was so much in love with him that she even inked his name's initials on the nape of her neck. And even after an ugly breakup and taking a jibe at Ranbir on Karan Johar's chat show, Koffee With Karan, Deepika continued her friendship with him. Recently, an old video of their joint interview went viral, wherein Deepika revealed who was her first kiss.
In a video that has gone viral, the host asked Ranbir about his first kiss. He quickly said that his first kiss was in school. Deepika quipped, "Teacher?" Ranbir instant denied. And when the same question was put across Deepika, Ranbir interrupted and said she had never kissed anyone, while Deepika pointed at him with her finger.

As soon as the video was updated, netizens flooded the comments section. One user wrote, "Nonsense, she had 6-7 boyfriend before Ranbir." Another commented, "If lie had a face...deepika." One of the netiznes wrote, "Chal jhoothi. She had boyfriends before him." However, one of Deepika's fans came in defend of her and said, "the comments are so weird. she pointed to him meaning the interviewer should listen to what he says and he's not stupid he clearly made a joke so the interviewer would stop pressuring her about something so private for women."

It was in 2008, when rumours of Deepika and Yuvraj dating made rounds on the internet. They first met after the T20 World Cup. Deepika was riding high with the success of her debut film, Om Shanti Om. The duo instantly became good friends. And soon, their friendship turned into love. The couple bonded over their collective love for sports. For the unversed, Deepika Padukone's father, Prakash Padukone is a former badminton player.
Yuvraj and Deepika were often spotted together at events and date nights. In fact, Deepika was a permanent part of Yuvraj's matches. But the duo ended their relationship on a bitter note. There were rumours that Deepika broke up with Yuvraj as she found him possessive. In a media interaction, Deepika had also claimed that Yuvraj would interfere in her professional life.
However, Yuvraj had a different story and revealed that Deepika moved on from him and found comfort in Ranbir. Talking about the same, in a media interaction, Yuvraj shared that Deepika was dating him, but she decided to move on with another person. He also called it her personal choice. Yuvraj was quoted as saying:
"Well, she was with me and now she's moved on with another person. I guess it's her personal choice. If someone wants to move out of a relationship, there isn't much that the other person can do. I am not blaming anyone but just stating the facts."
During one of the segments on Koffee With Karan, Deepika talked about the early stages of their relationship. She added that she didn't commit to Ranveer as she had been into difficult relationships in the past, and wanted to be free of strings. While they were allowed to see other people, they would keep coming back to each other. She was quoted as saying:
"I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said 'I just don't want to be attached, don't want to be committed'. And I had fun! And then he came along so I didn't commit until he proposed to me. There was no 'commitment as such. Even if we were technically to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other."
