Punjabi's 17th Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann and his second wife, Gurpreet Kaur (35 years old), welcomed their first child. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony at his residence in Chandigarh. Their wedding left millions in shock as Bhagwant Mann had promised to serve the nation after his divorce from his first wife, Inderpreet Kaur, in 2015. For those who don't know, Bhagwant Mann has two children from his first marriage, a daughter named, Seerut Kaur Mann (23) and a son, Dilshan Singh Mann, who are settled in Canada.
On March 28, 2024, Bhagwant Mann and his wife, Gurpreet Kaur welcomed a baby girl into their lives. Bhagwant Mann announced the arrival of his baby girl on X (formerly known as Twitter). He further revealed that both mother and her baby are doing fine. Also, it is worth mentioning that Bhagwant Mann is the first CM in the history of Punjab to become a father while still working in the office.

Raghav Chadha took to his social media handle and shared the first picture of Bhagwant Mann's baby girl. Congratulating the new parents, Raghav wished good health and a bright future for the baby girl. In the picture, which he shared, the little one was wrapped in a swaddle and a blanket and was sleeping peacefully. Raghav's wish can be read as:
"Mere vadde veer Bhagwant Mann Ji ate bhabhi ji de ghar beti paida hon te bahut bahut mubarka.Parmatma agge nanhi pari di tandrusti ate ujjwal bhavikh di kamna krda ha."
It was in January 2024, when Bhagwant Mann for the first time talked about his wife, Gurpreet's pregnancy. In his speech, Bhagwant revealed that his wife was seven months pregnant and was going to deliver in March. He further requested the people not to get sex determination tests as they have also consciously chosen not to discover the gender of their child.

It was an arranged match for Bhagwant Mann and Gurpreet Kaur. The former's mother, Harpal Kaur and sister, Manpreet Kaur wanted Gurpreet to be part of their family. According to reports, Gurpreet was also interested in Bhagwant Mann's courageous nature and one-liners. In fact, before marriage, Gurpreet also wanted to be part of politics, but her family didn't allow her as they wanted her to get married.
