After the grand Punjabi wedding, the Bengali biye (wedding) keeps us intrigued. Believe us, a Bengali wedding is much more than the red and white sarees, shankh pola and welcoming the guests with ullu dhwani. While these are the significant parts of a Bengali wedding, it has much more to them. Recently, we stumbled upon fashion blogger, Debasree Banerjee's wedding, and her every wedding detail was lit and gave us major fashion inspirations.
Over the years, many brides ditch traditional outfits and opt for lehengas on their big day, but Bengali brides have stayed loyal to their love for Benarasi silk sarees. Recently, we stumbled upon influencer, Debasree Banerjee's wedding. The gorgeousness ditched the designer lehengas and donned her mom's wedding day saree.
The bride's red Benarasi saree was a hand-me-down from her mother. She teamed it with a half-sleeve blouse with floral zari work. Debasree added a modern twist to the traditional Bengali drape by adding a sheer dupatta. Famous saree draper, Dolly Singh made her look super pretty draping her saree.
The bride accessorised her look with gold jewellery. She looked pretty in a gold choker neckpiece, matching earrings, matha patti and bangles. Debasree got her makeup done by MAC Cosmetics. Her look was completed with Topor.
After her wedding, the bride quickly changed into a gorgeous golden lehenga. Her outfit featured gold sequinned work on the lehenga skirt, matching full-sleeved choli and a dupatta. She accessorised her look with a passa.
We love the bride's wedding look and how she gave her Bengali drape a modern twist with a sheer red dupatta!
