Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi tied the knot with the love of his life, Maria Goretti, 25 years ago on February 14, 1999. However, the couple have not yet registered for their wedding. For the unversed, the couple never felt the need to register their wedding legally, but they thought of celebrating their silver jubilee by officially registering their wedding. For the unversed, Arshad hates to share his wedding date with anyone as it lands on Valentine's Day, and he has mentioned this in his several media interactions.
Arshad Warsi and Maria Goretti registered their marriage in court on January 23, 2024. In an interview with The Times Of India, Arshad shared that the thought never came to his mind, but they realised its importance while dealing with property matters. He added that there is no need for all the formalities as long as they are committed to each other. He was quoted as saying:
"We did it for the sake of the law. Otherwise, I feel as partners, if you are committed to each other, then that’s all that matters."

During the same interview, Arshad revealed that he never wanted to marry his wife on Valentine's Day. He said it wasn't intentional, but Maria's parents wanted them to marry soon. However, the only date that looked feasible to them was February 14, 2024. He was quoted as saying:
"Maria’s parents wanted us to get married soon. We couldn’t during Lent, and then I was getting busy with work. We didn’t waste one year and the one date that looked feasible to us back then was Feb 14, so we went ahead with it. Now I have the scariest memory of Valentine’s Day that I got married (laughs).”
It is said that nothing else matters when you are in love, which stands true in Arshad and Maria's love story. However, the duo started as friends when Arshad met Maria in the '90s. However, Arshad felt strongly inclined towards Maria from the start of their friendship. However, when Arshad confessed his love, Maria refused as she wasn't ready to accept it.
Interestingly, Arshad knew about Maria's feelings for him. In a media interaction, Arshad confessed that he had taken a weird route to make Maria express her feelings. He shared that they were together on a Dubai tour where he mixed beer in her cold drink. Maria got intoxicated and bared her feelings for Arashad. She confessed her love.
