Bollywood actress, Ameesha Patel made her acting debut with the hit film, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, alongside Hrithik Roshan. Recently, she starred in the blockbuster film, Gadar 2, which broke all the box office records. As the actress is basking in the success of the film, she sat for a candid interview and spoke about her rumoured feud with actress, Kareena Kapoor Khan. For the unversed, Ameesha replaced Kareena in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, after the latter had already shot for some time.
In a new interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ameesha Patel shared how Kareena made bold statements in interviews stating that she would have done a better job than her if she’d been a part of the film, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. Ameesha also added that Bebo claimed that she would’ve also stolen the limelight from Hrithik Roshan in the film. When she was asked about the alleged feud, Ameesha said:
“Kareena made a statement that if she’d done Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, she would’ve done a better job of it than I had. And she said that she would’ve stolen the limelight from Hrithik or something like that. And I also said, ‘Maybe. Maybe she would have, maybe she wouldn’t have’. The bottom line is that Sonia was me, I did justice to the character, the film was a hit. Nobody can run away from this reality. What I could’ve done replacing other girls in other films I don’t know. Maybe I would’ve done them worse, maybe I would’ve done them better.”

Mentioning that she didn’t react to Kareena’s comments back then, Ameesha said that she was taught to never be disrespectful of others. Speaking along the same lines, she added that Hrithik Roshan was a naturally gifted star in the film, and nobody could’ve overshadowed him, not even Kareena. Further, when Ameesha was asked if Kareena's comments hurt her, as she was quite young at the time, Ameesha said:
“I think I was always very mature.”
Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ameesha Patel made a shocking revelation, as she claimed that director, Rakesh Roshan told her that Kareena didn’t reject Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, but was asked to leave. Sharing the details, Ameesha mentioned that Kareena and Rakesh were having differences, so the director asked her to leave. Everyone was shocked by the incident because the set worth crores was ready, and the real task was to find a replacement for 'Sonia' in three days. As it was Hrithik Roshan’s debut film, everyone was anxious. However, the day Rakesh saw Ameesha at a wedding, he was like ‘I got my Sonia, I got my Sonia, but I hope she says yes’. And the rest is history.

Talking about Kareena Kapoor's bold remarks about Ameesha Patel, the actress created a buzz in the entertainment industry back then. In an interview with Filmfare in 2002, Kareena opened up about not being a part of the hit film, KNPH, and shared that she is glad she didn't do the film. She added that Ameesha was not even given five-second shots in the film and she didn't look beautiful as she had pimples and under-eye bags on her face. In Bebo's words:
“The film was made for Hrithik. His dad spent five hours on every frame and close-up of his, whereas not even five seconds were spent on Ameesha. There are portions in the film where she has pimples and under-eye bags on her face. She just doesn’t look beautiful, but every shot of his was a dream. If I were in the film, I would have definitely got a better deal, but I still feel that the attention would have divided between us. So, I’m glad I didn’t do the film.”
