Virat Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma are reportedly expecting their second child together. For the unversed, the duo is blessed with a daughter, Vamika Sharma Kohli, and they take their baby's privacy very seriously. While many reports claimed that Anushka is pregnant with her second baby, she and Virat never reacted to the ongoing speculations. Moreover, the actress has been spotted hiding her baby bump many times.
However, to everyone's delight, ace cricketer, AB de Villiers finally confirmed that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child. For the unversed, Virat withdrew from the first two matches of the Test Series against England due to some personal reasons. Later, the BCCI shared a detailed statement and urged fans and media not to slam Kohli for his decision. The board further mentioned that Virat had a brief discussion with captain, Rohit Sharma and the team management before making the final decision.

On February 3, 2024, AB de Villiers shared a new YouTube video and answered his fans' queries. During the same, he was asked about Virat Kohli's absence from the Test Series and questioned if everything was alright at the Indian cricketer's personal front. To this, AB said:
"All I know is he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is doing well."
AB de Villiers further lauded Virat Kohli for prioritising his family and shared that the latter can't be judged for taking a break to be with his loved ones during this phase of his life. Sharing his text message that he sent to Virat Kohli, AB confirmed that the former India captain and his wife, Anushka Sharma were expecting their second child. He said:
"Let me just see what he said. I just want to at least give you (fans) a little bit of love. So I wrote to him 'Been wanting to check in with you for a while now, biscuits. How are you?'. He said 'Just need to be with my family right now. I am doing well.'. Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it's family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people's priority is family. You can't judge Virat for that."

Meanwhile, an unseen picture of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli created a stir on social media. The photo showed Anushka caressing her baby bump as she posed with Virat, who wrapped his arm around his wife's shoulder while smiling for the camera. The actress was decked up in a golden saree, flaunting her baby bump. The viral picture led to the speculations that Anushka finally announced her second pregnancy. However, after digging a bit, we discovered that the viral photo was a morphed version of an old photo of the duo from Diwali 2018.
