We have also seen some of the glorious outfits in legendary Hindi films that are etched in our hearts forever. The entire nation loved Anushka Sharma's look in the film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. While the film received mixed reactions, Anushka's outfits and styling were on point. However, not many know that Anushka wore a super heavy lehenga that weighed around 17 kg. Yes, she wore a Manish Malhotra-designed lehenga during the song, Channa Mereya. Anushka shared that she was carrying so much weight and the jewellery added three more kilos to her look.
For one of the scenes in the film, Devdas, Madhuri Dixit had worn a real mirror-work lehenga which weighed 10 kg. In 2019, the designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla revealed the details of the lehenga. They shared that it had taken two months and an entire team of highly skilled artisans to complete the ensemble. The same lehenga had also travelled to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, where it was a part of the exhibition, The Fabric of India 2015.
Deepika Padukone, who is hailed for her acting skills, made heads turn as 'Mastani' in the film, Bajirao Mastani. However, not many know that Deepika had worn super heavy armour in the film. To everyone's surprise, it weighed almost 20 kg. Well, we wonder how Deepika must have performed those difficult stunts wearing the heavy ensemble.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film, Jodha Akbar was nothing less than magic. From her heavily embellished lehengas to her oversized pieces of jewellery, she perfectly depicted the Rajputana princess. However, not many know that the gorgeous diva wore about 400 kg of gold and semi-precious stone, which were moulded to recreate her jewellery. According to multiple reports, it took 200 craftsmen, who worked for 600 days to recreate her ornaments inspired from the Mughal era.
The late legendary actress, Sridevi Kapoor is still famous for her on-point acting prowess. In fact, she was way ahead of her time when it comes to flaunting the right fashion staple in the films. In one of her Tamil films, Puli, Sridevi wore a gold gown, which was designed by Manish Malhotra and weighed over 20 kg.
Sophie is hailed as one of the hottest divas in Bollywood. She is famous for item songs, and once for the film, Kidnap, she had worn a real mirror-embellished coord set. Yes, in the song, Meri Ek Ada Shola, Sophie was seen showing off her aadaein in it. However, the outfit she wore in the film was made up of mirrors, and it weighed a total of 20 kg. Well, kudos to Sophie for wearing such a heavy outfit and dancing to the beats.
Kareena Kapoor Khan had also once worn a super heavy lehenga, which weighed almost 32 kg. She had donned it for the film, Ki & Ka. The heavy lehenga had layers of zardozi embroidery. According to reports, she shot for two consecutive days in a suburban studio.
