Zaid Darbar and Gauahar Khan were in the headlines when Ismail Darbar expressed his problem with his daughter-in-law's profession. Recently, Zaid took an indirect dig at the statement.
Zaid Darbar and Gauahar Khan's marriage is made in heaven. The two met each other at the lowest phase during the lockdown when there was gloom all around. Gauahar found her calm in Zaid and vice versa. But years later, Gauahar's father-in-law, Ismail Darbar, expressed his dislike towards his daughter-in-law's profession. Now, Zaid revealed how he had handled things at his home when it came to Gauahar's profession.
Recently, Gauahar and Zaid appeared together on Rashmi Desai's podcast. During the interaction, Zaid revealed that he was also questioned about his wife's profession at his home. However, he clearly told his family that they should attend his wedding to know his wife's profession, as he doesn't want any questions on the same. He said:
"Mujhe bhi pucha tha ladki kya karti hai, mai ne bola mai bol raha hoon aaja na meri shaadi mein, invitation de raha hoon. Mujhe sawal nahi karna koi bhi kuch bhi. Mai ne bahut ache se actual mein yeh bola hai."
However, Rashmi got confused and thought Gauahar's family question him. Later, Gauahar clarified that he was talking about his side of the family as they also have certain opinion on a girl's profession or what kind of girl they want. She said:
"He is talking about his side, kyunki ladki kya karti hai vo bhi doubt ho skta hai na. Ya ki hume kis tarah ki ladki chahiye vo bhi ek question aata hai."
Earlier, in an interview with Vicky Lalwani, Ismail Darbar expressed his clear dissatisfaction over Gauahar's profession. He shared that he comes from old school though process, where they would turn away during a sensuous type of scene in a moive, and he follows the same in his house. He added that Gauahar is a part of their family and they are responsible for her. But he cannot tell her not work as it is her husband's right. He added that is the reason he do not indulge in acitivies which might bother him. He said:
"Look, I come from a backward family. We used to turn away whenever a sensuous type of scene would come in a movie. This happens in our house even today. Gauahar is a part of our family now, we are responsible for her reputation. But I can’t tell her not to work; that right only Zaid has. So I don’t indulge in activities that might bother me."
Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar are the most popular couples in the telly town. Gauahar, who made a huge name for herself with her stint in Bigg Boss 9, has been enjoying the best phase of her life. She married Zaid in 2020 and they embraced parenthood with the arrival of their baby boy, Zehaan, in May 2023. In 2025, the couple got blessed with a second son.
