Sunila Sharma was not a professional singer, but she was a known person in the Indian music industry. As veteran music composer Pyarelal’s wife, Sunila often used to accompany him in public events and TV shows. In recent years, Sunila was seen alongside her husband on music reality shows, including Indian Idol 13. The couple made a starry appearance on Indian Idol 13 as special guests during a tribute episode dedicated to the legendary composer duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. She also appeared on the shows, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Superstar Singer.
Sunila Sharma’s death was announced by her family through a statement. The announcement was shared by singer Priyanka Mitra on Instagram. In their statement, Sunila’s family shared that she passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026. However, the statement didn’t mention the cause of Sunila’s death. The statement can be read as:
"With deep grief and love in our hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Amma. Sunila Pyarelal Sharma, who left for her heavenly abode on July 12, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her family. Amma lived a life of grace, devotion, and quiet strength - a pillar of unconditional love to all who knew her. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing she is finally at peace. We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support of our family and friends during this time. Your work here is beautifully finished, Amma. Rest in eternal peace."
Singer Priyanka Mitra shared Sunila’s family statement on her Instagram handle and captioned the post, "At a complete loss of words, Amma. You've always been our Queen, and shall remain forever. Our strongest pillar is gone. Will long to hear your laughter forever, Amma. Om Shanti." Netizens flooded the comment section soon after the heartbreaking news of Sunila’s demise made its way to social media. A user wrote, "Om Shanti... Rest in peace."
Another user commented, "Such a wonderful charismatic lady, always smiling. Om Shanti Om." A third user penned, "Prayers for Sunila Ji... Om shanti." A fourth user wrote, "Om Shanti Om, Shanti Om Shanti. May her blessed, beautiful and precious soul rest in eternal peace." Another comment can be read as:

Several videos from Sunila’s funeral surfaced online. In one of the videos, veteran music composer Pyarelal was seen in a wheelchair as he bid an emotional goodbye to his wife. Netizens have reacted to the video showing Pyarelal in a wheelchair. A user wrote, "She was a graceful and charming lady. I always loved watching both of them together on Indian Idol. May her beautiful soul rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to Pyarelal ji and the entire family during this difficult time."
