Their tragic passing brought attention to their alleged infidelity. Following James and Lexi's demise, his wife, Emma Wehr, reached out to the late woman's family and informed them that he was seeing Lexi despite being legally married. Here's everything we know about the late woman.
Lexi Kramer was a 22-year-old woman hailing from Lakeland, Florida. She was allegedly in a relationship with five-year-older James Wehr when she passed away alongside him in a fatal car crash in California. After her sister, Grace Kramer identified her as the second victim of the McLaren crash, several details about her personal life surfaced.
Lexi reportedly worked as a bartender, a social media car enthusiast, and a 2026 Hooters calendar girl. She was interested in cars and motorcycles, which explains her association with James Wehr. Regarding her academics and career, she reportedly completed an associate's degree from Polk State College and had just accepted a new leadership position with a company shortly before her death. Lexi met James on Instagram, and they instantly connected over their shared love of cars.
Lexi and James chatted online for a month before their first in-person meeting, according to Lexi's family in the California Post. The duo's first meeting reportedly took place in California on September 11, 2026. Her flight ticket for traveling from Lakeland was paid for by James. Upon arrival, they spent quality time together over the weekend before the fatal crash early Sunday morning.
James Wehr was seeing Lexi while being married to Emma Wehr, and according to her family members, he told her that he was almost on the verge of finalizing his divorce. After Lexi and James' deaths, Emma reached out to Lexi's family, and it was only then that they got to know that he had lied to her about his marital status. Emma admitted they had issues in their marriage but also noted that they never filed for divorce.
Lexi's family learned about his lies from his wife, Emma and the latter, in turn, learned about his infidelity from the former. James and Lexi's relationship, which reportedly began with lies, continued in the same vein until their untimely deaths. As per her family, he chatted with her all day and finally convinced her he loved her. The family member further stated that Lexi had a passion for "American muscle cars and motorcycles." They were quoted as saying:
"[He] talked to her every day all the time and finally got her to fly out to California to come see him. She loved the car community, so it's such a tragedy that that's what ended her."
James Wehr allegedly gave Lexi assurance that he was almost about to finalize his divorce from his spouse. Believing his lies, Lexi flew to his state, spent time with him, watched his car show, had a fancy dinner date, and then tragically lost her life in a car crash.
James Wehr and Lexi Kramer went to dinner at Nobu and had drinks at the Pendry Hotel hours before the fatal crash. He also posted an image on his Instagram from the Pendry Hotel, followed by a shot of the McLaren in what appeared to be a police stop before the crash. Police later said that the car was stopped at a red light near Culver Drive and Deerfield Avenue shortly after midnight.
The vehicle accelerated at high speed once the light turned green, and the driver lost control and slammed into a tree. Lexi Kramer and James Wehr both died from the impact.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Lexi Kramer and James Wehr's families during this difficult time.
