According to reports, he was arrested at a Tesco petrol station forecourt. He was ordered to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on September 9, 2026. Shane Richie has been married twice. Many might be familiar with his first wife and Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan. Meanwhile, his second wife, Christie Goddard, is also an actor just like her husband. She has appeared in several TV series and movies including The Last Dance, American Daylight, and Hustle.
As one might expect, with both Christie and Shane being in showbiz, they met through their work. In fact, during an interview, Christie revealed that she had met Shane way before they became a couple. She said, "I first met him when he was in Jack and the Beanstalk in Wimbledon. I was in Cinderella in Croydon. A friend took me to meet him and there he was all in green tights and a little green suit."
Later, Shane Richie also opened up about his relationship with Christie. Telling a sweet story, he recalled the exact moment he knew that he wanted to marry Christie. According to the actor, he knew that Christie would be his wife from the moment they met. He said:
"I remember the moment, I was doing Panto, I came off stage, my mate said to me, 'We're going across the road to the pub'. Walked in, there were four or five people, she said, 'Come and say hello to some friends'. She went, 'Shane, this is Christie, Christie this is Shane'. At the moment I went, 'I've just met my future wife.'"
Several years after this encounter, Shane and Christie tied the knot on July 21, 2007. As per reports, they have since welcomed three children together, Mackenzie Blue, Lolita Bell and Romani-Skye Angel Shelly. She once confessed that he and Christie contemplated adopting at one point. He said:
"We're talking about adopting. We may go down the foster route, which means we can get any age. Because my children are six, nine and 11, we might get a baby. Although we could have more children, I think it's because we can have children that we think 'why don't we?'"
Shane Richie found himself involved in a confrontation in Harlow on July 29, 2026, where he argued with a worker after he was told not to smoke an e-cigarette at a petrol station. While the actor tried to explain that it was an e-cigarette compared to a traditional one, the worker did not back down and told Shane that it would still pose a risk since they were at a petrol station.
With their entire exchange having been filmed, it seemed like Shane said, “Fuck off. I don't give a fuck.” Once the police arrived at the scene, Shane was arrested on charges of drink-driving. In a statement issued by the Essex Police, they revealed:
"Officers were called to reports of a suspected drink-driver in the area of Church Langley Way, Harlow, shortly before 23:20 on Wednesday, 29 July. On arrival, officers arrested a man. A charge of drink-driving has subsequently been authorised against Shane Roche, 62, of Tadworth, Surrey."
