Rapper NBA Ben 10 was recently shot during a violent altercation at a nightclub in Houston, Texas. Videos of the evening have surfaced online, sparking concerns about his health. Is he alive?
NBA Ben 10, the close affiliate of popular rapper NBA YoungBoy, recently found himself in a tense situation. On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, he was shot inside a restaurant in Houston, Texas, during a violent altercation. The rapper was one of the two victims who were shot at the Confessions nightclub in Houston's Upper Kirby locality, and videos of the scene made waves online.
Early reports sparked instant panic, with rumours spreading across the hip-hop community that the Baton Rouge rapper, 26, had been killed in the scuffle. Fortunately, those were later debunked as false, and a friend of the rapper has informed that he was alive. Here's a closer look at the rapper, his connection to NBA YoungBoy, and the shooting incident.
The incident unfolded in the late hours of April 8, 2026, when NBA Ben 10 visited the Confessions nightclub, a popular and busy location in the Upper Kirby area. While inside the venue, the 26-year-old reportedly got into an altercation that turned violent. According to authorities, the scuffle began with a chain-snatching attempt and soon escalated into a physical fight involving multiple people. The struggle went on for 30 seconds to a minute. An official said, “That altercation originally appeared they were trying to rip his chains off."
It didn't take the situation to get out of hand. Within seconds, the suspect, reportedly overpowered during the fight, unexpectedly pulled out a handgun and began firing. NBA Ben 10 and another individual were shot and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Those present at the scene later confirmed that Ben 10 was alert and conscious when he was hospitalised. With rumours of his alleged death going viral, the rapper's close associate, OG Monique, updated his status, writing on Instagram Stories:
“Ten is alert… Stop the made-up stories.”
According to Houston Police Department Lieutenant R. Wilkins, both of the victims were hospitalised in critical condition, and the unknown suspect was reportedly overpowered when multiple individuals stepped in to stop the struggle. This was when the suspect pulled out a firearm and opened fire. One of the victims was reportedly struck multiple times in the torso, while the other suffered gunshot wounds to the arms and extremities.
In videos from inside the nightclub that surfaced on social media, people can be heard screaming in fear that someone is dead. The video also captured a victim lying on the floor, though it's not clear whether it was Ben 10. Lt. Wilkins told the media that sudden gunfire caused panic inside the venue, and furniture was knocked over. He was quoted as saying:
“So what we know right now is our suspect had a confrontation with a couple guys. That altercation originally appeared they were trying to take his chains. That went on for 30 seconds to a minute, where these two guys were tussling with him. Actually got him to the ground and probably got his chains off. Right after that, another fella jumps in, and several other people jump in as well. They start having a fist fight. They are beating this guy pretty bad.”
Ben Anthony Fields is a rising rapper best known as a close affiliate of YoungBoy's 'Never Broke Again' (NBA) collective. He is a native of the Baton Rouge area, Louisiana, born on December 13, 1999. In hip hop circles, he is known as NBA Ben 10 or MGNG2x. The 26-year-old is also reportedly a father of two boys, Tru and Ben, but there is little to no information about their mother.
While Ben 10 is not as globally known as YoungBoy, he, too, has built a prominent following through music, social media, and appearances alongside the rapper. Besides his collaborations with YoungBoy affiliates, Ben 10 has also written tracks like Play Wit Me. Besides music, he runs his own fashion brand, Slime Design Clothing.
In recent weeks, Ben 10 has been promoting paid meet-and-greet appearances in Houston, reportedly charging up to USD 5,000 for personal hangouts during spring break. On Wednesday night, he was seen meeting fans before the accident and giving autographs. Authorities are still investigating the shooting, with no suspect publicly identified yet. It is still not clear whether the gunfire will be treated as self-defense or lead to criminal charges, as the cause has yet to be determined. For now, Ben 10 remains hospitalised and in critical condition.
Representatives for NBA YoungBoy have not issued a public statement regarding the shooting incident as of now. Praying for Ben 10's speedy recovery.
