The ace filmmaker shared glimpses of the ceremony and wrote, “Seeking your blessings, the newly engaged Krish Agrawal and Ida.” In the glimpses, Ida looked stunning in peach-coloured attire, while Krish complemented her in a black bandhgala.
Though Ida Ali has pursued a career in filmmaking like her father, her fiancé works in finance and research. Ida first grabbed attention when she directed a short film called Lift. She was only 17 then. On the other hand, her fiancé, Krish, likes to keep his life private, away from the media glare.
The 24-year-old, Krish Agrawal, works as a quantitative researcher at a hedge fund. Ida and Krish have been together for years. While she loves filmmaking, he has built his career in finance. They also run a podcast focused on Hindi films and started their own production company, Blue Curtain Films.
In July 2026, Ida Ali took to her Instagram handle to reveal the news of her engagement. Ida shared a breathtaking video, which opened with beautiful scenery. Soon, the 26-year-old writer flaunted her sparkling diamond engagement ring. She captioned the video as, "01/07/26 11 pm Ytresand", which suggested that Krish proposed to her on July 1, 2026, at 11 p.m. in Ytresand, a place in Norway. Later, she also shared dreamy snaps in which Krish is seen on his knees as he slips the engagement ring onto Ida’s hand.
Ida Ali is the daughter of Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and Preety Ali. Her parents divorced in 2012. Ida went on to establish her own creative identity in the entertainment world. After directing the short film Lift at 17, she went on to write several shows, including the Amazon miniTV show Uljhe Hue. She studied filmmaking at Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in California.
Beyond films, Ida founded Refresh, a digital platform focused on youth experiences and conversations around mental health. She is an impeccable storyteller just like her father. In an interview with a leading daily, Ida spoke about filmmaking and revealed how her father has supported her career. Speaking about the same, she said:
“Firstly, we both have an understanding that I have to make it on my own. He believes that I have it in me to do so. Also, there is always the fear that our relationship will get in the way of our work; it is better to stay clear of that. I write stories separately, and I don't think he influences them. However, because we are in the same atmosphere a lot, we may have a similar outlook on life that reflects in our films."
